Роки тому, ще до початку повномасштабного вторгнення, ми вже робили свою офіційну заяву. Зараз слушний час її повторити.
Ми, HEMA Guild of Duel Fencing, не допускаємо фехтувальників, тренерів, організаторів та спонсорів з Російської Федерації та Республіки Білорусь до участі у будь-яких заходах, організованих нами або за нашої участі.
Спорту поза політикою не існує, насправді ніколи не існувало та існувати не може.
Нам безмежно прикро бачити, що питання грошей все ж взяло верх над принципами і FIE - International Fencing Federation, що своєю чіткою і принциповою позицію весь минулий рік була для нас прикладом, з другої спроби лобіювання, змінила свої погляди на протилежні.
Рішення набуде чинності з другої половини квітня цього року, безпосередньо перед Чемпіонатом світу з фехтування в Мілані, запланованим на липень. Це дозволить білоруським і російським спортсменам взяти участь у відборі на Олімпійські ігри 2024 року в Парижі.
Ми, представники фехтувальної хема-спільноти України виражаємо свою підтримку Національна федерація фехтування України, Olga Kharlan та всім іншим спортсменам-фехтувальникам в цей скрутний для них момент.
Навіть коли думаєш, що не в змозі щось зміни, найменше, що можна (і варто!) зробити – це не мовчати. Мовчання, в даному випадку, рівноцінне ігноруванню, пасивній підтримці дій країн-терористів.
Нажаль, світова фехтувальна спільнота (що HEMA, що Олімпійська) здебільшого віддає перевагу мовчанню або підтримує це рішення FIE - International Fencing Federation.
Проте, є і виключення.
Польща неймовірна!
Ми безкінечно вдячні польській HEMA Федерації FEDER за те, що вони вважать, що «спорт і бойові мистецтва є силою мирного об’єднання людей і народів, тому засуджуємо російсько-терористичну агресію проти України». І тому представники країн-агресорів на їх змаганнях допущені до участі не будуть.

Наша повага і шана Асоціації польських ветеранів олімпійського фехтування Stowarzyszenie Polskich Weteranów Szermierki за те, що вони розуміють, що тільки «тоді, коли всі росіяни дуже болісно відчують наслідки політики своєї країни, можна буде розраховувати на будь-які зміни в їхньому національному мисленні та сприйнятті світу». І тому представники країн-агресорів на їх змаганнях допущені до участі не будуть.

На відміну від Олімпійських ігор, організатори European Games 2023 вважають, що «країни, які руйнують спортивну інфраструктуру України, вбивають спортсменів і позбавляють їх можливості тренуватися на спортивних майданчиках, мають бути ізольовані від цивілізованого світу спорту до припинення збройної агресії проти України». І тому представники країн-агресорів на їх змаганнях допущені до участі не будуть.

Проте, не Польщею єдиною.
Виконавчий комітет Федерації фехтування Німеччини Deutscher Fechter-Bund повідомив FIE - International Fencing Federation про те, що не буде проводити Кубок світу з жіночої рапіри, запланований на перші вихідні травня у Таубербішофсхаймі.
«Як би ми не хотіли представити наших найкращих спортсменів німецькій публіці та дати їм можливість використати домашню перевагу на шляху до Олімпійських ігор у Парижі, обставини не роблять іншого рішення можливим».

Федерація фехтування та сучасного п’ятиборства Фінляндії скасувала проведення турніру серії Сателіт FIE «Kupitta Tournament», запланованого на 23-24 вересня 2023 року у місті Турку.
«Оскільки реєстрація на турнір проходить через FIE - International Fencing Federation, ми не можемо заборонити участь російським та білоруським спортсменам. Нам невідомо, скільки віз вони отримали б до Фінляндії, але ми, як і Швеція, вирішили, що в цій ситуації не будемо проводити турнір, в якому можуть взяти участь спортсмени з цих двох країн».

Years ago before the full-scale invasion started, we had already made our official statement. Now is the right time to repeat it.
We, HEMA Guild of Duel Fencing, do not allow fencers, coaches, organizers and sponsors from the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus to participate in any events organized by us or with our co-organization.
Sport outside of politics does not exist, in fact never existed and cannot exist.
We are deeply disappointed to see that money prevailed over principles and FIE - International Fencing Federation, which was an example for us with its clear and strong position all last year, has changed it to the opposite from the second attempt because of the lobbying.
The decision will take effect from the second half of April this year, just before the World Fencing Championships in Milan, scheduled for July. This will allow Belarusian and Russian athletes to participate in the selection for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
We, the representatives of the HEMA fencing community of Ukraine, express our support to the Національна федерація фехтування України, Olga Kharlan and all other fencing athletes at this hard period.
Even when you think that you are unable to change something, the least that you can (and should!) do is not to stay silent. Silence, in this case, is equivalent to ignoring, passively supporting the actions of the terrorist countries.
Unfortunately, the world fencing community (both HEMA & Olympic) mostly prefers silence or supports this decision of FIE - International Fencing Federation.
However, there are exceptions.
Poland is incredible!
We are infinitely grateful to the Polish HEMA Federation FEDER for the fact they believe that "sports and martial arts being a force peacefully uniting people and nations and therefore condemn Russian terrorist aggression on Ukraine". Therefore, representatives of the aggressor countries will not be allowed to participate in their competitions.

Our respect and honor to the Association of Polish Veterans of Olympic Fencing Stowarzyszenie Polskich Weteranów Szermierki for the fact they understand that only "when all Russians feel very painful consequences of their country's politics, it is possible to count on any changes in their national way of thinking and perception of the world". Therefore, representatives of the aggressor countries will not be allowed to participate in their competitions.

However, not only Poland.
The Executive Committee of the German Fencing Federation Deutscher Fechter-Bund has informed FIE - International Fencing Federation that it will not host the Women's Rapier World Cup scheduled for the first weekend of May in Tauberbischofsheim.
"No matter how much we would like to present our best athletes to the German public and give them the opportunity to use home advantage on the way to the Olympic Games in Paris, the circumstances do not make any other decision possible".

The Fencing and Modern Pentathlon Federation of Finland has canceled the FIE Satellite series tournament "Kupitta Tournament" scheduled for September 23-24, 2023 in the city of Turku.
"Since the registration for the tournament takes place through FIE - International Fencing Federation, we cannot ban the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes. We do not know how many visas they would have received for Finland, but we, like Sweden, decided that in this situation we will not hold a tournament in which athletes from these two countries can participate".
