Devoted Father and loving husband, Stefano Nurra passed away on August 4th 2022 at the age of 52 following a brief but courageous battle will illness. The Energy Standard Family has lost an irreplaceable, compassionate and quite brilliant Human Being.
Stefano, a native from the Island of Sardinia, lived his life for his family & for the sport of swimming. His pride was helping young people to achieve their dreams and through his role as a video analyst he touched the lives of hundreds of people.
Starting his love of swimming firstly as a coach in his hometown Sassari, before moving to the Italian mainland, Stefano found his role as a technical expert. Most recently working with Turkish Swimming Federation, while living with his family in Bursa he played a pivotal role in developing the national team of Turkey. Stefano assisted many Olympic & World Champions including most recently young Italian sensation Benedetta Pilato and has provided innovative analysis to countless athletes and coaches.
It is in his role as Head of Biomechanics consultancy for Energy Standard that Stefano excelled, working with athletes such as Sarah Sjostrom, Ben Proud, Chad Le Clos, Siobhán Haughey, Florent Manaudou, Misha Romanchuk, Georgia Davies to name a few. Stefano’s kind heart and compassionate nature made him one of the most popular characters at the Olympics, World Championships & ISL.

The success of others in life brought great joy to Stefano, he loved his family and his work. Stefano is survived by his wife Alev and young son Gianluca.
