Mengo Youth Development Link opened new chapter for the 2024 Vocational courses at Mengo Youth Developent Link vocational training center in Massanafu Kinonya in Lubaga Division. Transportation to and from the centre is provided on daily basis. Director Pascal Lutaya and M/s Jenifer from Magenta Girls Initiative (USA) paid a courtesy visit to the Minister of Kampala and the Metropolitan area in her office.
This was a follow up of the grand launch of the Gender Based Violence (GBV) campaign by Mengo Youth Development Link & Magenta Girls Initiative in partnership with the Rotary club of Kasangati in Kampala and wakiso area.

The Minister pledged continued support of the Government towards this campaign and promote mitigation of GBV by fronting MYDEL as a front runner.

MYDEL Mcquilton Academy held a speech day on Saturday 25th November where pupils show cases for Academic excellence and extracurricular activities.
The school attracts international volunteers who join the training staff in different disciplines likes language teachings, sports and computer literacy.
Modest bursaries are processed for vulnerable households.
Pupils are free to join the skilling program at MYDEL vocational training center at Masanafu at no charge.

Mengo Youth Development Link Top story in the New Vision news paper yesterday MYDEL official launching of Gender Based Violence GBV program at Nakivubo Blue Primary School sponsored by Rotary Internationally, Rotary club of Kasangati and Megenta Girls Initiative enjoy.

Launching the Gender Based Violence (GBV) program
MYDEL in partnership with Rotary club of Kasangati and Magenta Girls Initiative launched a GBV program aimed at mitigating Gender Based Violence amongst women in Kampala.
The program aims to empower over 70 women with skills in tailoring and fashion design, saloon and hair dressing, Catering, Bakery, computer literacy and home economics . Formation of MYDEL GBV call free centre - Educating 139 vulnerable children and training 54 local leaders who will act as GBV Ambassadors.
Launching the program on the Tuesday 21st November 2023, the Minister of Kampala and Metropolitan Hon Minsa Kabanda pledged Government full support to support the program.
M/s Jenifer from USA who lobbied for the funds for the program expressed her gratitude for all the players in the program. In her capacity as the head of Magenta Girls Initiative, she expressed the need for collective responsibility.
Rotary club of Kasangati is the accounting Agency and will provide technical guidance to the program.
The president of the Rotary club of Kasangati was present at the launch with his entire team. However as per program design,the Rotary club of Kasangati will fully participate in the implementation.
In attendance was Hon Mike Sebalu, the former member of Parliament for East African.

MYDEL Hosting 23 delegates from 18 countries across the globe . These are graduate students of Peace from different countries who visited MYDEL to learn how MYDEL programs promote peace within the community, entertained to a Peace interface with the street children in Mengo Parish Hall and then the team also met the women in the slums MYDEL.
On the spot, some of the delegates committed themselves to partner with MYDEL. MYDEL team appreciate the local Leaders headed by Mr. Bamwebuze and Hajati Hadijja Kabuye also representing MYDEL for participating in both meetings.

Director Pascal Lutaya and the Hon Minister for Kampala and Metropolitan Hajjati Minsa kabanda after seeking the Ministers approval to preside over the Gender Based Violence ( GBV) launch program scheduled for 21st November 2023. The GBV program is the robust program MYDEL is undertaking in the slums of Kampala with our partners the program will involve empowering mothers and girl child with knowledge and skills to improve their livelihood. Advocacy through stakeholders to mitigate the GBV incidence within slum dwellings under the theme " Take action to stop Gender Based Violence"

Yesterday Mr. Moses the coordinator of Nansana Civil Society Network visited MYDEL Mcquilton Academy Primary School which is one of the projects of Mengo Youth Development Link. The purpose of meeting was to strategize and improve on the performance of Nansana Civil Society Network.

Director Pascal Lutaya representing MYDEL during the 4th CAPSTONE Conference held at Makerere University where he was invited as a guest. MYDEL is one of the partner organizations hosting Rotary Peace students under Makerere University Rotary Peace Centre from 23 Countries from Asia, Africa, Europe and USA
