Uganda Wheelchair Basketball Federation Hosted visitors Cum collaborators from United Kingdom on 16/04/2026. Two Britons willing to work with UWBF visited the Team and Federation leaders at Lugogo Indoor Stadium. They gave their expertise as Phyisios to the players preparing for international engagements. They took the team through drills for streaghening the body, sessions to avoid and manage injury as well as providing us with hopes for collaboration.

Miss Jessie Robinson and Abby who, work with Ethiopian Wheelchair Basketball and Ghana Wheelchair Basketball respectively, shared with the team the possible opportunities for exchange programs with Local Basketball teams from the UK, skills transfer and equipment aquisition.

They appreciated our current game level after we show-cased it with two randomly selected players with women included.

UWBF was thrilled to have partners like them who are not only familiar with Wheelchair Basketball but also with the African game.

Uganda's first I.T.O (International Technical Official) arrives home safely from IWBF Africa Zone duty in DR Congo and Angola.

She was welcomed by some of the Uganda Wheelchair Basketball Federation (UWBF) officials. She presented her newly aquired Certificate as a Zonal Referee the President, and other board officials.

What remains is to practice the skills gained in national, zonal and international tournaments so as to aim for international training and certification.

Once again, Congratulations REF Betty Namaganda.

UWBF shines in the Africa Zone competition in Angola despite not participating in the tournament as Team Uganda . The Team failed to secure funding for the tournament but sent our own - now international refree.

Betty Namaganda has now secured a zonal certificate (Africa Zone) as a referee. Remember, she has now officiated at the 3x3 world cup-South Africa, U25 women- DR Congo, Africa Championship Angola and she is now heading for the Common Wealth in Glassgow.

Slowly, we not only develop the game in Uganda but, the East Africa region too.

Congratulations Betty on this achievent.

UWBF congulatulates Morocco (men) and Algeria (women) for winning the 2026 IWBF Africa Championship. It was a good tournament to watch. Africa's game has improved as exemplified by the change of guard. Apart from Morocco and Algeria at the top, the rise of Senegal, DR Congo and Angola replacing the likes of Egypt for men. The ladies of Angola and Kenya (U25) have showed tramendous improvement. Our regional team KENYA made us proud.
