OҒҒICIΔLLΨ OҒҒICIΔL:
SCRAP BUYERS SIGN LUBULWA SIMON, SSEWANKAMBO FAHAD & NSUBUGA HUMPHRY IN THE BIGGEST MOVE OF THE SEASON!

In the past many seasons, what looked to be a major snag in the players transfer window has turned out to be an unimaginable quick and swift deal as Hotpool's trident Lubulwa Simon, Nsubuga Humphrey and the 2017 National Open champion Ssewankambo Fahad were landed by Scrap Buyers yesterday evening!

With the the fierce rivalry amongst Scrap Buyers, Hotpool and Skin Samona that escalated since 2014 in the PAU Clubs Knockout and later found its wings into the Senior League, no pool pundit would imagine the three best enemy clubs to consent in any transfer window until it all came to pass yesterday.

According to a statement released by Scrap Buyers' confidant Wasswa Kayiiya, the Kisenyi based outfit's ability to capture the three experienced players was much more easier than expected!

"For the better part of the last couple of days, we have been in depth negotiations with the three players and everything was going smoothly until the talks materialised yesterday." said Kayiiya.
"Signing the three is a future- looking move and we hope to experience a significant two years' tenure with them as we hunt to clinch the Senior League glory we last tasted in 2016." Added the club's confidant.

Early this year Hotpool faced critical challenges in its administrative structure that led to the stepping down of its mogul Bob Trubish to frustrate the squad before watching almost all its Playing staff in the Ladies team quit the club. Kajubi Jacinta and Ankah Sheila had been acquired by Bob Trubish this summer before turning free agents after Bob left the club. With yesterday's twilight leaving of Humphrey and Simon with Ssebuguzi Habib who left the club three months ago for Jinja's Ronz Pool Club, Hotpool must make significant signings in the shortest time possible if they are to pose a threat in the upcoming campaign. Fahad had only been at Hotpool for just four months after joining them from Skin Samona in March.

As much as there has been talk about good players joining Scrap Buyers this summer, the talk of Fahad, Humphrey and Simon had not picked much steam after watching the Club signing teenagers Wasswa Oscar, Ssebufu Isaac, Nsubuga Allan and the experienced Nabaasa Joram who later left for Dubai. Yesterday's new entrants are said to have signed a two years contract at a deal of two millions per year each! Kanyesigye Ivan, Wasswa Moses, Mujuzi Patrick, Kimera Cyrus, Akankwasa Salim and Wasswa Kayiiya are other players ready to grace Scrap Buyers' Jersey this season.

Honestly in Fahad, Humphrey and Simon, Scrap Buyers have secured the biggest signings of players proven at a much higher level and undoubtedly a team to beat come the start of the season.
All the best to the players and their new club!

*MANAGER KAKURU'S JOURNEY IN POOL*

_*In loving memory of Kakuru Byensi*_

Kakuru Byensi joined the pool family around 2002 when himself and a few colleagues formed a pool Team(G-4 pool club) in Makindye. With himself as player/manager, they competed in the league for 2 seasons.

Kakuru later opted out of the team to form Wandegeya-based Da Link Pool club, which is was one of the formidable teams in the league between 2003-2005.

Kakuru then inspired the formation of DV-8 pool club on along Wilson Road in Kampala City. They signed some of the finest players around, and won 2 consecutive league titles. With the departure of Kakuru and others from DV-8, the club faded away.

As a business Associate of Cosmetics tycoon Salongo Mukasa Kasawuli, Kakuru inspired him to form the mighty Samona Pool club, a team which came to dominate the sport for close to a decade, in both individual and Team events.

As Samona boasted many of the country's top players, Kakuru advised the formation of a Samona "B" team under the name "Sakana-Sana", which on 3 occasions became first Runners up to the Senior league. Kakuru was again Player-Manager.

In 2013, the 2 mighty teams unified into one club " Skin-Samona" with Kakuru in the leadership structure. Their dormince continued as expected for a few more seasons.

In 2016, Kakuru took the game back home to the Roots and formed Ibanda Warriors pool club; which he managed and played for to successful senior league promotion. They are right now a senior league club with a male and female team, with the biggest number of registered players ever, managed and Sponsored by Kakuru

*Administration*
Kakuru Byensi served as Tournament Secretary of PAU under the Bob Menani administration in the early 2000's. Under his reign as TD, Uganda participated in an international pool event for the first time ever. In Bob's second year in office, the late became Vice chairman of the Association. He then opted out of the sport's leadership up to 2011.

In 2011, he stood for the position of chairman and lost to Farouk Kisuze by 2 votes. He continued in club administration while hoping to become chair one day. At the expiry of Kisuze's 6-year tenure in 2017, he again stood for chairman, only to loose to Bob Trubish; again by 2 votes. Mid-way through Bob's term, a Bob won a Confidence Vote at the AGM again by 2 votes. Had he not, Kakuru was many people's favorite to take the seat.

Earlier in 2017, Kakuru formed the Ankole Pool Association with Subscription to PAU. They played the Ankole Pool League with him as chairman, and an end of year pool day was held as organized by Kakuru a few weeks back.

He has been a vocal figure. He has inspired many of our top players. He has always held the Executive Committee accountable.

He is survived by 10 children.

Manager Kakuru, we will miss you for ever.
