FEMRITE AUTHOR CONVERSATIONS

Dear friends,
You are invited to an intimate literary conversation with Joshua Lubwama, an award-winning Ugandan writer whose work continues to make its mark on the landscape of contemporary African literature.
In 2025, Joshua won the Commonwealth Short Story Prize for the Africa Region, following two consecutive longlistings for the Afritondo Short Story Prize in 2023 and 2024.
An alumnus of the African Writers Trust, Joshua’s work has appeared in Granta, A Long House, Afritondo, and The Shallow Tales Review.
Join us as we explore his literary journey, the craft of the short story, the questions that shape his writing, and the evolving possibilities of African storytelling.
