DO'S AND DON'TS OF FORKLIFT OPERATION
:
ㆍEnsure operators are trained and licensed to use the forklift
ㆍ Perform visual checks before each work shift/day
ㆍ Wear appropriate personal protective equlpment- when inspecting and operating
Keep arms and legs inside the cab
Wear seat belts whille driving
Report any damage/ defects and incidents to safety manager(s)
Mark defects/damages with bold and clear warning labels, signs, and tags
Plan the route you will take for accurate hazard assessment and prevention
Drive within the posted speed limit and in approved areas
Sound horn at intersections, blind spots and when backing up
Keep sufficient distance from otther vehicles and forklifts
ㆍTake care when approaching pedestrians, Always give them right of way

Operate a forklift without training and a license
Operate a forklift that is posted for defects and damage
ㆍ Load a forklift beyond Its capacity
Brake suddenly or take sharp turns
Take a turn on slopes or inclines
