The company with interests in all aspects of chia seed production and consumption - from farming through to quality control, milling, product development, distribution, sales and nutrition, responsibly purchases chia seeds from commercial farmers, and sources seed from out growers in Uganda/Africa. The company currents sells raw whole seed meal, flour but with plans to further processes it into oil, milk, gel, lecithin capsules, chia sprout powder, seed blends, cosmetics and other products. The company greatly is cautious about the aspects of research and production of chia seeds. It has focal farmer leaders and commercial representatives in all regions of Uganda. The production of chia seeds will be put into practice on productive platforms placed in different Eastern African Region countries. The tropical positioning provides our product high superiority and the geographic diversity guarantees us production throughout the year, and minimizes climatic, political and economic risks. Production is carried over in fields of our own and through agreement with private owners, always under strict technical control made by the ChiaBiz™ staff, which is distributed in the different production areas, guaranteeing the specific knowledge of each one. The company comprises of three basic departments devoted to: Research and Development, Agricultural Production and Trade. The mission of ChiaBiz Africa Ltd. is to alleviate, develop and establish sustainable market-driven system of chia products and producer groups that are empowered to enhance their household incomes in Ugandan by promoting, growing, producing and processing chia-based products and marketing, through a network of agencies and programs, as well as provide opportunities for self sufficiency. Objectives

1- To promote the production and marketing of chia-based products to include seed, oil, milk, fudge, body jelly, soap, drinks, powder, and other nutrition and health products in Uganda.

2- To enhance the production and profitability of chia produce to farmers.

3- Disseminating information on enhancing production and profitability of chia farming through awareness radio programs on quality improvement and production among others.

4- Supporting the market linkage and supply chain systems for chia products.

5- Promoting value addition and diversification of agricultural crops and products Facilitating chia food production and chia foods quality improvement efforts through nursery beds and mother gardens development, planting and replanting program, training in post harvest handling practices.

6- To strengthen the institutional capacity of chia producers and promote membership development and strengthening by facilitating formation and strengthening of farmer groups and associations, improving communication and information sharing between chia producers and its membership.

7- To advocate and lobby the different stakeholders in the chia product industry on a number of pertinent issues including its recognition as the chia farmers’ voice/representative in Uganda by government and other stakeholders.

8- To review of the chia products law, certification, quality control and adherence to quality aspects.

9- To increase in chia products consumption in Uganda and beyond

10- To promote warehouse receipt system as a channel for chia product marketing and facilitation to chia farmers and producers.
