Do NOT make this Bent-Over Lateral Raise mistake!

A week or so back, I found myself wondering about Alan Porter. He was the editor of a magazine, called camera, published in Switzerland, beautifully printed, and all the best photographers – and some of the others, too, like me – wanted to be published there. so I sent off some work. I had been photographing for less than a year, so it was quite a stretch for me to think I might belong there.

To my astonishment, Alan took the work and put a picture on the cover. That’s it, I thought, I’ve got it made.

As it turned out, I did not have it made, and I still don’t have it man, and I hope I never do.

Just a few days ago, I heard that Alan had passed away. He was, just by his choices, a big influence on photography. I think there is nothing like him out there now.
