There has been a riots in Yumbe Municipal Council were Touch Africa Now (TAN) operates a School called Peace Nursery and Primary school. The Muslim community has opened a jihad war on christian living in that area and this has put some of the christian school staffs, parents, and children in fear for their lives. Please pray for peace, protection of lives and the School not to be destroyed by the angry Muslim mobs.
Police in Yumbe Municipality today fired live bullets and teargas to disperse protesters led by Sheik Kasim, a prominent driver, who was demonstrating against reports of a proposed pork joint in the area. Videos circulating on social media show police officers firing in the town, while a photograph of a protester bleeding heavily has gone viral, sparking outrage and concern among residents. According to local sources, Sheik Kasim organized the protest, citing cultural and religious sensitivities in the predominantly Muslim community.

Refugees are people who have been forced to flee from their communities due to armed conflicts, persecution or natural disasters.
Refugees face various challenges, like lack of basic needs, food, water and shelter. Other challenges are displacement, leaving their homes, families and communities. They also go through uncertainty not sure when they are going to back to their countries or receiving asylum or resettlement often in unfamiliar environment. Refugees also face trauma after experiencing violence or loss of their beloved ones in armed conflicts/war. Touch Africa Now(TAN) operates three Early Childhood Education schools in Rhino camp Refugee settlement center. We give hope, love, and protection by educating the refugee children in the three center. During yesterday's visit to our ECD centers in Rhino camp, we meet with the staff of the there ECD centers as we assessed their performance.
