โI have spent 18 years as part of this club, and I have had the privilege of standing alongside you at the Etihad, Wembley and in Istanbul. This club means an enormous amount to me, and you have shown and told me time and again how much Manchester City means to you.
Following the media reports that emerged on Friday, many of you spent the evening answering questions from friends, family and colleagues and responding to their messages. I did the same.
What I told my family is that the Premier League proceedings still have a long way to go, and our confidence and determination to prove the clubโs innocence remain as strong as they have been since the beginning of this case.
There is a great deal I would like to share with you so that you can understand why we have such strong confidence in our position. However, the strict confidentiality surrounding the legal proceedings, and our commitment to respecting that process, prevents me from doing so at this time.
I ask you to carefully read the clubโs statement released on Friday, along with the February 2023 statement below. Every word in both statements matters, and they continue to fully reflect our position.
Despite some people rushing to reach their own conclusions, and despite all the noise surrounding us, nothing has changed.
We have faced challenges before and overcome them together. There are still people who want to undermine the momentum of our club, but we will not give them that opportunity.
We have exciting moments ahead after the international break. We will travel to Anfield in two weeks before hosting Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League at the Etihad.
These matches give us an opportunity to celebrate the strength of the Manchester City family.
