Q: How long have you been practicing and teaching yoga?
A: I’ve been practicing since 2011, and teaching since 2017! I became a teacher trainer at Tula in 2021.

Q: Why do you love yoga?
A: Yoga brings me back to wholeness and away from the noise of the outside world. It allows me to live in a more embodied way. Whenever I feel lost or disconnected, yoga brings me back to myself.

Q: Favorite yoga pose?
A: Depends on the day or moment, but I love pigeon or reclined pigeon.

Q: What do you hope students feel when they leave your class?
A: I hope they feel better connected and at ease within themselves. This busy world can pull us away from that so easily.

Q: The best yoga advice I ever received was…
A: Yoga teaches us about ourselves, and we can take those lessons off the mat and into our lives.

Q: What brings you joy outside of yoga?
A: My dog, my house plants, nature, being creative, travel and friendships.

Q: My favorite thing about my students is…
A: Thier openness to their experience of my class, and the gratitude that they share.

Q: What is your favorite style of yoga to teach and why?
A: I love them all, but probably gentle yoga. I truly love to hold space and nurture people in a world that is so fast paced and chaotic.I also am so fulfilled by seeing people who hold the most tension melt and find ease for the first time in a long time.

Q: How do you keep learning?
A: I am forever a student. Continuing ed, taking other yoga classes and even learning from my students keeps me going.

Q: What advice do you have for anyone considering Tula’s 200-hr or 300-hr teacher training?
A: One of the greatest gifts you can give yourself is the gift of wisdom and self study. The journey of teacher training opens you up in ways that cannot be taken away from you. Whether you wind up teaching yoga or not, that is priceless.
