Texas Armadillo's Men's Gymnastics Team

Happy birthday to new team member Aaron Grow! A former member of the Abilene High School men's team, Aaron was a top floor and vault worker in Texas HS gymnastics.

He currently works and lives in Abilene, Texas. He currently trains with Coach Cooke. His future goals include attending seminary. He's been recovering from an injury, but as you can see from the reel, he's been getting back into it! Looking forward to seeing your progress this season and happy 19th!

The Texas Armadillos would like to wish alumni Alex Castro Perez the best of luck and well wishes as he takes on his next challenge at Springfield College!

A member of the 2024-2025 Texas Armadillos GymACT team, Alex graduated this past year with a B.S in Kinesiology from Texas A&M University. He will be continuing his education at the graduate level pursuing an MBA while also acting as the Graduate Assistant Coach for the Springfield College Pride Men's Gymnastics team.

His future plans include coaching in the NCAA and hopefully helping colleges in Texas start a gymnastics program one day!

Welcome new team member for the 2025/26 season Tyler Davison!

A 3x Level 10 Pommel Horse National Champion, Tyler trains out of Acrotex - Cedar Park in Austin, TX. His long term gymnastics goals include competing on an international stage.

Outside of gym he's an active musician and song writer consistently recording new original songs while working to improve his craft.

Congrats to Michael Torres on his All-American status for horizontal bar during the 2024-25 season! Check out the video for some of his off season upgrades.

About Michael
Michael is a Senior at University of Houston studying kinesiology. He's on the national team for Puerto Rico and recently competed in the All-Around at the 2025 Pan American Games. He currently trains at HGA with Coach Sean Townsend

The Texas Armadillo GymACT team would like to welcome JT Fletcher as the new head coach! We're looking forward to watching the team grow and succeed under his leadership.

BIO
A lifelong gymnast and leader in the sport, Coach Fletcher began his gymnastics journey at Abilene Cooper High School in Texas, where he earned multiple individual state titles, including the All-Around Championship.

He went on to compete collegiately for Brigham Young University and Arizona State University, ultimately graduating from ASU with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a minor in Sports Science.

With over 30 years of coaching experience, Coach Fletcher led Bryan High School and Rudder High School to an impressive 10 (total) state championships and induction into the Texas High School Gymnastics Hall of Honor. His influence extends beyond coaching—he is a respected judge and has served as the USA Gymnastics Junior Olympic National Apparatus Leader for Parallel Bars. In recognition of his outstanding contributions to the sport, he was honored as a Life Member of the Gymnastics Association of Texas (G*T) in 2021.

When he’s not coaching or judging, JT enjoys spending time on the golf course.
