Chasing Dreams with Chicken & Anette

One thing about Chicken & Anette 🥹🩷 whenever I tell them something from the crowd or the dugout before they take the field, or I’ll tell them what play is happening or which way the ball is gonna go, I ALWAYS get a little head nod or a thumbs up letting me know, “I heard you, Mom.” 🥹

And the crazy part is, I don’t even have to yell 😂 I can literally say it in my normal voice and somehow they just KNOW I’m talking to them. 🥹🤣

It’s such a small thing, but I love it so much. 🩷 That little nod or thumbs up lets me know my girls are listening—even when they’re out there locked into the game. 🥎💪🏽

This girl has been out there playing softball in this HEAT 🥵 and somehow she is STILL not drained! 🤦🏽‍♀️ Meanwhile, the TWO kids who didn’t even play are straight KO’d in the middle row 😴😂

And Chicken?? Nope. She’s in the back of the car building herself a whole fort while talking my ear OFF. 😭🤣

Then the questions start…

🐔: “Am I allowed in New Mexico?”
Me: “Yes.” 😂

🐔: “What about old Mexico?”
Me: “Yes…” 😭🤣

🐔: “What about the Mexico Dada was born at?”
MA’AM. 😭😭😭 Your Dada was born in HOUSTON, TEXAS! 🤣🤣 But at this point…
Me: “Yes, Chicken.” 😅

Somebody tell me WHERE she is storing all this energy because I need some. 😭🤣 This heat wore everybody out EXCEPT the one who actually played in it! 🤦🏽‍♀️🐔🥎🩷

So dang proud of ALL these young girls!! Playing their hearts out in 106° Texas heat 🥵😫 and still out there battling, hustling, and giving it everything they’ve got! 💪🏽🔥

Because whewww… 106°?! 😭 I give these girls ALL the credit because I would’ve tapped out just standing there 🤣👏🏽

My Chicken!! 🩷🥎😮‍💨 She FINALLY got someone who can pitch with some HEAT 🔥 and best believe my girl was back there SNAGGING them balls!! 💪🏽😤

After the game I asked her, “Did you like how that pitcher pitched?” and this little girl said, “FINALLY someone can pitch my speed!” 🤣🤣

Like okayyyy Chicken 👀😂 I see you!! She cannot stand them slow pitchers lmaooo 😭 Give my girl some SPEED and she’s HAPPY behind that plate! 🥎🔥

I don’t think we’ve EVER played both of our pool games this early and been completely done by 10:30am… just to turn around and start bracket at 6:30pm 😳🤣 Talk about a BREAKKKK!!

My Chicken said don’t mind if I do 😴😂 She’s getting that nap in and recharging because once 6:30 hits, it’s back to business 🥎💪🏽🩷

My Chicken 🩷🤣 She got RAN THROUGH at home plate by a girl 2x her size 😭😅 I told Chicken, “Girl, y’all weigh about the same! Next time HOLD YOUR GROUND, brace for impact, and HOLD ONTO THAT BALL!” 🤣💪🏽

Her little self just starts laughing talking about, “I TRIED!” 🤣😭 Like ma’am, I know you did, but next time we gotta be a BRICK WALL back there 😂🥎💪🏽🩷

She’s missing practice tomorrow, but that doesn’t mean she’s missing her workout 😂💪🏽 AND she’ll be out there supporting her Chicken while doing it 🥹🩷 Ice vest in one hand and cooling rags in the other, both filled with ice water because this heat ain’t playingggg 🥵🤣 She said we’re still putting in WORK while cheering on her little sister—just gotta stay cool while doing it! 💪🏽🥎🩷

I’m over here talking to Anette about this HEAT like, “Girl, it is TOO HOT out here! 😫🥵” and she really looks at me and goes, “Mom, I literally play in this all the time… you’ll be fine 🙄.”

UMMM EXCUSE ME, MISS MA’AM?! 🫣🤣🤣

I told her, “Yeahhhh… and I give YOU and all them kids credit because ME?! I’d be like NOPEEEE, game canceled, see y’all when it cools down!” 😭🤣

These softball kids are built DIFFERENT because ain’t no way I’m voluntarily running around in this heat for hours! 😂🥎☀️
