The Wylie High School Bass Fishing Team is proud to announce that AJ Amonett and Austin Beard are on the road to the 2026 Bassmaster High School National Championship!

These two anglers have put in countless early mornings, long days on the water, and an incredible amount of dedication to earn the opportunity to compete against the nation’s best.

The road to the THSBA Angler of the Year Championship is here! 🎣💜

Congratulations to Kale Trumble, Carson Stone, and AJ Amonett for earning their spot among the best high school anglers in Texas. Their hard work, dedication, and consistency throughout the season have put them in position to compete for one of the highest honors in Texas high school bass fishing.

We’re incredibly proud of these anglers and everything they’ve accomplished.

While our anglers are still competing and chasing championships, we’re already planning for next season!

The Wylie Bass Fishing Team is looking ahead and preparing for another great year on the water! This season has been one to remember, with our anglers winning tournament after tournament, earning Team of Year in both the BassNation and Texas High School Bass Association trail and we want to do it again next year!

Congratulations to Blayze Harper and Jery Huddleston on qualifying for the Bass Nation Junior High State Tournament at Cedar Creek Lake!

These young anglers have worked hard all season and now have the opportunity to compete against some of the best junior high anglers in Texas. We are incredibly proud of their dedication, sportsmanship, and commitment to representing Wylie Bass Fishing.

We are incredibly honored to have the Wylie Bass Fishing Team featured in the June edition of Wylie Magazine. Seeing our program highlighted is a reminder of just how far this team has come in such a short time.

A special thank you goes to Kristen Johnson for her support of these students over the years. Not only has she taught many of our anglers in the classroom, but she has consistently celebrated their accomplishments beyond school as well. Having educators who genuinely invest in students’ passions and recognize their hard work outside of academics makes a lasting impact, and we are grateful for everything she does for our kids.

We are especially proud of our three seniors — Carson Stone, Kale Trumble, and AJ Amonett. These young men were there when this program began and helped lay the foundation for what it has become today.

What makes us most proud isn’t the trophies, scholarships, or titles they’ve earned. It’s the example they’ve set for the younger anglers coming behind them. They helped build a culture that values hard work, teamwork, sportsmanship, and excellence both on and off the water.

Thank you, Carson, Kale, and AJ, for believing in this program from the beginning. Your legacy will continue to shape Wylie Bass Fishing for years to come, and we can’t wait to see what comes next for each of you.

What a way to finish the THSBA State Tournament! 🎣💜💛

A huge congratulations to Carson Stone and Kale Trumble on an incredible tournament, finishing 6th Place in the THSBA State Championship at Lake Texoma and bringing home $4,000 in winnings!

As if that wasn’t enough, Carson Stone also landed the 2nd Place Big Bass, earning an additional $500 prize. What an outstanding accomplishment on one of the biggest stages in high school bass fishing.

These two young men represented Wylie with class, determination, and countless hours of hard work. Success like this doesn’t happen by accident. It comes from early mornings, long days on the water, and a commitment to constantly improving.

We couldn’t be more proud of the anglers they have become and the way they represent our team, school, sponsors, and community.

🎣 185 teams hit the water today, representing schools from across Texas and competing for their share of $68,000 in scholarships plus prizes.
