Ezra Jackson #55

Ezra will be racing in the 85cc class. This is the last year this will be a half mile track. The racing here is AWESOME! Very fast and fun to watch.

Ezra raced flat track at Jeeps Motorcycle Club and had a great time! Came home with a pair of two's, second place in the 85cc class and the 250 class. It was great to see some action back on the short track at Jeeps. Thank you to everyone involved in making the races happen, and thank you to everyone that came to watch Ezra race!

We took a trip up to South Dakota to visit my grandpa. He lives 10 minutes away from Sioux Valley Cycle Club, so of course we brought the bike to get some racing in! The track started off very very dry and dusty and it was like racing on marbles. Dad made some adjustments and the track got a little better for the feature races. Overall finished 5th in the flat track and 6th in the TT. It was a challenge, but I had fun and it was a cool place to go race.

Stockton flat track race recap:
The 119th annual flat track race was one for the books. Ezra got his first win on a half mile track! We started out with practice rounds by making a few adjustments and deciding which gear to run. Major thanks to our friend Ryan Sangles for the help with the gearing. I think we finally have it dialed in for the big tracks! In the heat race he had an ok start but quickly moved to the front and stayed there the whole time. It was great to see him finally have the confidence to pass someone and not play follow the leader the whole time.
In the feature race he had a bad start (something we need to work on). But he made up for it and passed two riders on the middle of turn 2. Right out of turn 2 he gets passed by the number 11 rider on the Honda 150, and the battle was on! Ezra stayed on his tail the whole race and pushed hard going into the turns, he really wanted that number 1 spot back! It came down the the final lap and the last turn, when they ran into some lap traffic. Ezra took the high line, made his pass for 1st place out of turn 4 and it was a drag race between the two of them to the finish line!

What a day we are having! This might be the most fun we've had a flat track race so far. A bike show, vendors, trick riders and more! The rain this morning has pushed us back a little on practice times, but it sounds like we should be good to go for 7pm racing tonight!!

Ezra is super excited to be out on the flat track again! This type of event is a little different from anything else we've experienced so far this summer, but we are definitely having a good time!
