ACU Master of Athletic Training

Emma and Jada, newly 2nd year ACU MATP students, are in their first week at the Hendrick Bone & Joint Orthopedic Clinic. They had the opportunity to practice applying casts in each other!

Seth Lee was honored today as an ACU University Scholar for the College Of Health and Behavioral Sciences. He is a student in the 3+2 MAT program and next week, he will complete his first year of the MAT program and graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. Congratulations, Seth!
We know you’ll do great things in your second year of the MATP!

Laci Harvey and her preceptor took time from their busy schedules to chat about the immersion experience. Laci has gained confidence in her skills and work while in her immersion with Shelbi Steven’s, head AT at Hardin- Simmons University. Shelbi is also a local preceptor. Thank you Shelbi for pouring into our students and the ACU MATP.

Although you can’t see her face, this is Emily Castillo (blue sweatshirt). She is doing a knee examination on a high school athlete at her immersion site. Emily has gained essential experience working with her preceptor, Ashleigh Adams, who is also a local preceptor for the ACU MATP. Thank you both for your hospitality on my site visit! And great job Emily!!

Second year ACU MATP student, Isaac Obodo, is on his immersive clinical experience at Lamar University. Thank you to his preceptor, Mallory, for helping Isaac gain experience as an athletic trainer for a Division I baseball team!

Second year, ACU MATP student Amanda DuBois, is on her spring immersion and traveling with her preceptor from East Texas Baptist University (ETBU). Marcus is the head AT at ETBU. He takes care of baseball in the spring. Also pictured is Shelbi Stevens, one of Amanda’s previous clinical experience preceptors.
