Crappie heat wave at Fort Phantom.

It sure was hot this weekend. Hit the water looking for dinner and found it.

Fish were pretty scattered. Had to burn some gas to catch em.

All were caught on jigs per the norm.

Texoma scouting trip.

Did some random playing around in different areas of lake Texoma this weekend.

Caught a quick 1 hour haul of crappie for dinner.

And trolled up some striper for dinner later this week.

6/6/26. Dinner!

Had a relaxing morning watching all the boats fishing.

Got on the water super late, around 10:30 looking for some dinner for this evening.

Got caught in a rain shower pretty soon after. Rode out the winds then headed back in. Quick trip!

Lots of smalls still. Normally not a big big issue. But for some reason they are grouped up with the true slabs. Threading that jig through twenty 8” fish, to get to one solid keeper is not easy. And they constantly chase the jig, which makes a stealthy presentation incredibly hard.

Got the itch to get out today after meetings and chores. Hit the water about 3:30pm, fished a couple hours in the wind.

Baked em up for dinner tonight.

Texoma Memorial Day weekend.

Had a great time scouting and logging data this weekend at Texoma. What a beautiful lake!

5/9/26. Fort Phantom

We needed some fish for the cookouts this weekend. Say no more!

Scouted out the south end of the lake. Caught at least 70 undersized fish. And maybe 30 keepers. I only kept these and a blue cat though. All caught on jigs per the norm.

Blessed beyond measure.

Sunday 5/3 crappie trip.

Did not have any takers for the trip today so I got to do the fishing myself.

Started the day late by typical fishing standards, 8:30am. For me that’s perfect!

Before the winds blew in I was able to do some dock shooting. That’s the only way I’ll fish a dock. It’s also something I do alone normally since I darn near take up the entire deck of the boat doing it.

After the winds came, I switched to fishing cover. Easily caught over limits worth by 10:30am. Played around till 12:00pm and called it a day.

Per the norm only kept what I plan to personally use the same day.

Got 3rd place at a Crappie tourney at Lake Stamford today 5/2/26. I’m pleased with it since I have not fished that lake before.

There were some good quality fish there. I’ll be back!

Took a young man and his father on a crappie trip. The young man has no quit in him! And loves to fish!

They elected to release all their catch to swim another day.

Confirmed count of 31, however we were late getting on the clicker so there was more for sure!
