Fishing with the Flyguide this week on the Brazos River!

There's this guy on campus who's been giving me weekly guitar lessons. He's taught me a TON, and one thing I've learned is the importance of smiling when you play. I believe that God made us all with unique abilities to collaborate in the beauty of this world He's made - and that includes the ability to make music! Music isn't just a way to make something that sounds pretty - it's a mode of expression that comes from somewhere deeper. My hope is that people who may never have thought they could play guitar can learn to participate in this gift!

So when you pick up the guitar, it may sound funny, but try smiling. The weird thing about smiling is it actually MAKES you happier! You may find that the words and chords flow way better as you tap into a new method of sharing the joy of music with those around you.
