It's time to start thinking about next season! We are thinking of doing something outside the norm on August 14th. If we have enough interest from females on high school golf teams, we plan to sanction a girls tournament to be held at Giles Country Club. Cost will be $20 per golfer and lunch will be covered. Area coaches please text head coach Scott Moye at (540) 599-6862 to get your golfers on the list.

We are so lucky to have our two awesome varsity assistant coaches! John Ross and Christy Mutter have both taken time away from their busy schedules to teach, mentor, and cheer on our golfers! Both are always ready to jump in with both feet, whether it be helping with our junior clinic or staying overnight at championship tournaments! We are so fortunate to have these two who the kids love so much!
Also, a big thanks to our middle school coaches this year. Joseph Clark took on the lead role all while starting his career as an MD. Jason Stinnett and Billy Burton were his assistants. They did a great job of teaching a very young group the ropes!
Another debt of gratitude is owed to Castle Rock Golf Course and Giles Country Club. Many other coaches are jealous that we have two courses who welcome us with open arms. Some teams are fortunate to get a few hours a week on a course. The membership and leadership at both courses have been extremely patient and accommodating! Many members often text me to see how the kids did! It’s always nice when your biggest fans are the people you are playing around while you practice!
They say it takes a village and we wouldn’t trade our village for the world. The overwhelming support from so many different people has helped grow our program and reach so many young boys and girls. Golf is so much more than a game. It fosters etiquette, responsibility, integrity, and sportsmanship. The community investment in our team has such an impact and we can’t ever begin to say thank you enough!

Addie Stinnett put a cap on the 2025 golf season by shooting an 88 in the VHSL Girls State Open at Heritage Oaks in Harrisonburg. After some struggles on the front nine, Addie went +2 on the next 8 holes. She hit one to 8 feet on hole 17 and sunk the putt for birdie.
Staying under 90 on such a tough course was definitely an accomplishment. We are proud of Addie not only for her success, but for her work ethic. She will not be outworked and you can safely bet that she will be the last one to leave after practice. We are excited to watch as she continues to chase her goals!
And she’s off! The first Giles tee ball ever at a Virginia State Girls Open!

Good luck to Addie Stinnett today as she takes on the best of VHSL at Girls Open State in Harrisonburg!

Addie Stinnett and Camdyn Moye competed for a spot in the VHSL Girls Open State Championship at Glenrochie Country Club in Abingdon. 12 girls were vying for 2 spots at the qualifier.
Addie tied with Natalie Lasley from Abingdon High School for the low score on the day, 83. Both Addie and Lasley will move on to the state tournament at Heritage Oaks in Harrisonburg, which is set for Monday October 27. Camdyn shot 98, good enough for 8th place.
Addie will be the first GHS golfer to play in the girls championship! Congrats Addie! Good luck next week!
