ASHL Families,

We’ve got three updates from league headquarters today:

1. Banner sponsor registration is now open
2. Rosters and schedules are coming
3. Formal fundraising letter is available

Let’s get into it.

1. Banner Sponsors Are Now Open
ASHL is now accepting banner sponsors for the 2026 season.

All proceeds from banner sponsorships will go directly toward our fundraising goal to complete the permanent lighting package at Arnold Park. That final piece is a big one. Lights mean safer play, more usable hours, and more chances for kids and families to enjoy the new courts throughout the season.

Sponsor banners will be proudly displayed at Arnold Park during the season.

Silver Sponsor: $250

The deadline for banner orders is short, June 25, 2026.

A sample banner is attached so you can see the general look and feel. Sponsors can include their company logo, business name, and contact information.

2. Rosters and Schedules Are Coming
Rosters are expected to be posted on the website early next week, with schedules following very soon after.

We know everyone is ready to see teams, game times, and who landed where after the draft room did its thing. The reason we have held the schedule back a bit is simple: Arnold Park construction is still on target, but we want to make sure we do not publish a schedule and then have to reshuffle the whole thing if there is an unexpected slip.

Right now, things are moving in the right direction.

Rosters first. Schedules right behind them. That is the plan.

3. Formal Fundraising Letter Is Available
We also have a formal fundraising letter available for anyone who wants to ask their company, employer, HR department, community giving team, or a local business to support the Arnold Park lighting project.

The letter can be used for either a banner sponsorship or a general donation. It explains the Arnold Park project, the remaining lighting need, the banner sponsorship options, and how donations will support youth sports and community recreation in Abington.

This is a good option if your company needs something more official than a quick email or casual note.

Construction is moving right along as planned. Here is a snapshot of the progress so far!

The draft is in the books. Well done all!

The draft tonight is delayed an hour so coaches grab yourself a coffee. Will start at 9 pm.

Looks like we had a great first shift today down at Arnold's as construction began right on schedule!

League registration CLOSES on Sunday, May 24th at midnight. Link below. As many of you know from past seasons, we sometimes have to cap teams, so do not wait too long.

The draft will be held from 8:00–10:00 PM on Tuesday, May 26th upstairs at the Abington Depot, aka league headquarters. Watters has been talking up this revolutionary draft process he has planned, so get excited. All head and assistant coaches are encouraged and welcome.

We are looking for one head coach per team and will begin reaching out to those interested. The head coach’s player registration will be free. Assistants will not be. Some people prefer coaching together and can split responsibilities or work out whatever arrangement makes sense — just let me know.

2026 ASHL Registration — ABINGTON STREET HOCKEY LEAGUE 2026 ASHL Registration

Big news from the rink front: Arnold Park is officially moving forward and registration link for 2026 is below.

Since CPA funding was awarded, the league has been working with the Town, DPW, Town Manager, Bruins Foundation, and Sanborn Engineering to get the project ready for public bid. It has been a thorough process, and we appreciate everyone who helped push this across the blue line.

On April 1, 2026, the project was publicly offered for sealed bid. On April 8, 2026, the bid was awarded to Dandel, Inc., a locally owned company from Hanson. We thank them and look forward to working with them.

The contract is currently scheduled to be completed by July 1, 2026. As we get further along, we’ll share updates on the timeline, league start dates, and season details as they come.
What is coming to Arnold Park is going to be a huge win for Abington families. This project is not just about street hockey. It will also support basketball, the playground, and the entire park community for years to come. The project scope includes new outdoor courts, fencing, two new surfaces, and related park improvements.

The one remaining challenge is lighting. Without lighting, some games may need to be played over two nights, which would make scheduling tougher for families, especially those with siblings on different teams. We are not far off from making lighting happen, but we need to raise approximately $17,000 in the next 60 days.

We believe this community can get it done. We’re brainstorming fundraising ideas and are open to suggestions, sponsorships, and any generous donors who want to help us light the lamp.

The future of ASHL has never been brighter, and we are on pace to return to our own backyard at historic Arnold Park in the summer of 2026.
