Summer 2026 Programs ☀️

🌊 Island Grove Pool prep is officially underway! ☀️

Did you know the man-made swimming hole at Island Grove is completely prepped and refreshed every summer before opening day? Each season, the pool is pumped down, raked out, refreshed with new sand, refilled using a well pump, and then fully chlorinated to get ready for summer fun.

To help ensure a safe swimming experience, the water is tested daily in-house and sent to a certified lab weekly for additional water quality testing.

Our DPW crew has been hard at work getting one of Abington’s hidden gems ready for another great summer season, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back on June 20th!

🏊‍♀️ Swim Lessons at Island Grove! 🌊

We’re excited to partner with Swim Inclusive again this summer to offer swim lessons at Island Grove!

Led by Faye, owner and instructor of Swim Inclusive, this program focuses on water safety and building strong swimming skills in a supportive, small-group environment.

🏠 Home Alone Safety Course
📅 May 28 (this is an early school release day)
🕛 12:00 PM
Open to grades 4–6
This course helps kids build confidence and learn essential skills to stay safe when home alone.

👶 Babysitter Safety Training
📅 May 2
🕕 6:00–8:30 PM
Open to grades 6–9
Perfect for teens looking to start babysitting or strengthen their skills, this training covers safety, responsibility, and basic childcare.
