So nice to all be down to FCF hoodies on this almost spring morning !!
Women’s Wonderful Workshop today started at 9:00 and ended at 2:30! We had a full morning with Tim Farquhar tending to our newly leased horses hooves . We had a few hrs of great information of farrier care. We took a lunch break where Sarah stuffed us with a family recipe of Irish soda bread and Shepard’s Pie!! Topped off with chocolate cake with Irish cream homemade icing!! Some how we managed to roll out the door and back to the barn for another hour of ground work . So many wonderful moments of good thinking , skill management and a few new objects to introduce themselves too! Can’t wait until next month!
Took a day away from the farm today to the Philadelphia Flower Show! Ran into Josh, Natalie and Sam Perlsweig ! A beautiful day! Thinking spring 🌻
Beautiful sunset moment Heather Bachor caught leaving the farm this chilly evening after her daughters lesson! Hopefully the calm after all the crazy winds💨
Love the shadows this time of year😎
Amazing morning -2 degrees , but the view of the moon, Jupiter and Saturn ! Advantage of doing the morning feed? Compliments of Patrick📸!
Beautiful sunset over the farm
It’s pretty ! But the ice can stop now 🙏
These three amazing children, Lily and Gunnar Bednarz and Brooke Long entered a replica of Flying Change Farm into the Mohonk Gingerbread house contest yesterday!
They surprised me as they guided with eyes closed to this amazing display ! Thank you for the honor.❤️ thank you to Theresa Karle, their sponsor for providing the ingredients , kitchen and guidance to create this masterpiece . And thank you to Sarah Robertson and Michael Bednarz for transporting children and the replica to Mohonk and all your support🤠. The Gingerbread barn yard is on display at our indoor areana! Thank you everyone for your kind words , Ginger touched many hearts ❤️! The comments have been so warming and comforting .Horses have brought amazing people into my life, and I am blessed by all the lives Ginger affected also. She is at Peace, May her soul run free❤️
Today , with dignity, our dear Ginger peacefully crossed Rainbow Bridge to join her former FCF ponies to run free of pain ❤️
Beautiful afternoon on the farm, we are tired of rain, but the rainbow enlightens the moment!!
Nice fall horse show at the farm today! We offered a 2 phase dressage / stadium for the first time . New experience for all. Halina Duda did a wonderful job judging and helping educate all on the rules of dressage and show jumping . Looked in the audience and spotted some alumni’s! The Cantering Cook chefs ( Lily and Gunnar Bednarz and Brooke Long) offered a wonderful variety of foods that sold out! Can’t wait to see what they cook up for the spring show!
Holly Bachor and her niece Phila ( the next generation ) sharing the ring! Fancy happy to have Holly astride again and Phila started posting today! Nice to have the Bachor family riding again at Flying Change Farm!
Patrick’s next weekend project! Dragging the ring to perfection after 4 loads of sand were tail dropped . 40 tons! Footing will feel great to the horses and me too🤠
Little project Patrick did to utilize the old barn sign and a sickle from a relatives homestead from Michigan !! Add in a few bits found from my family farm and we have new wall of memories
Last camp of the summer!! Great way to end the season, thank you to all the wonderful families for the continual support!
Camp #6! Lots of new faces , with a nice small group we packed in lots🐴
Talented Maria Reidelbach created a new design for our sign. The updated logo is a silhouette of me jumping my horse Popcorn who was my treasured mount from my youth!

Much needed rain ! Double rainbow to top it off
Old Chinese proverb:
Hot sun in gazebo in morning ,
Mean another hot day on the farm🌞
Hot day in the Hudson Valley so using the time to learn new skills at a slow pace ! Coco and Rylie riding without the bridle in the neck rope ! Great job
First week of summer camp! 2018
WWW today’s workshop was awesome ! Carol brought over her pedestal . Billy is the only one who had prior exposure to this confidence building tool. We practiced with all 7 horses on the farm and observed how they emotionally and mentally took on the task!
Wonderful Women Workshop day was amazing ! We talked about “mucking “ at many levels .We worked in 2 groups at liberty in the round pen and in the ring handling different horses and reading their horsenalities. We finished the morning with a blindfolded exercise walking up the hill to house building confidence ! Lots of laughs and Ahaa moments !!!!
Today’s monthly Wonder Women’s workshop was great! Worked on more skills handling from the right side of the horse. We reviewed Rein Aids and bits . Sarah spoiled us with a delicious spring lunch!
Another throw back Thursday! Such great memories with these young ladies
Here’s a throw back Thursday photo after a spring horse show ! Not sure what year, maybe 2003 ?
Holly Bachor ( who owns Fancy)and Adelaine Muth , two of my former students were in Scotland about 3 weeks apart ! Lots of coincidences lately !!
Throw back Thursday! Recognize any of these faces?
Just recently visited in New Hope Penn. Josh Perlsweig , bottom left and Kaitlyn Stanmeyer , bottom right and the didn’t know they live in the same town and their children will attend the same elementary school! Small world.
(And found out Dr. Kaitlyn is also Josh and his mom Leslie’s veterinarian)🐕
