Last night of class with this phenomenal group, and I couldn’t be more proud.

Each week, they showed up ready to work, take risks, support one another, and grow in ways that were seriously inspiring.

It’s been a gift to spend time with such dedicated, talented, and genuinely good people. I loved every minute.

New class starts October 21.

I think this could really help actors right now.

It’s called WeAudition: The SHORTLIST - a free 5-day online summit for actors who want real tools, strategy, and insight in this new era of the business.

No fluff. No vague advice. Just real talk from people working in the industry - casting directors, agents, directors, producers, working actors… and me. ☺️

It runs August 11–15th, and it’s free to attend.

👉 Here’s the link to RSVP! https://summit.actor-insider.com/?ac=jD8e7vsR

The industry has changed. I know this can help.

Atlanta actors—this one’s different.

For the first time, I’m teaching in person in Atlanta at The Robert Mello Studio—and I couldn’t be more excited.

Over 8 weeks, we’ll dive into the kind of scenes that demand more: more presence, more detail, more YOU.

I’ve been casting for 20+ years on shows and pilots like The Newsroom, SEAL Team, and Ash vs Evil Dead—and I’ve seen what makes an actor truly stand out.

My job is to help you bring that into your auditions.

🗓️ Starts August 7
📍The Robert Mello Studio, ATL

This quote gets me every time.
Because chasing what lights you up isn’t always fearless.

Most of the time, it’s messy.
It’s vulnerable.
It’s full of doubt.

But we do it anyway—because there’s something in us that refuses to settle.

Whether you’re deep in the hustle or just trying to find your way back to the joy, I hope you know this:

You’re not alone. I see you. And you’re exactly where you need to be.

Keep going. Keep choosing what sets your soul on fire.
Even when it’s scary.
Especially when it’s scary.

If your next brave step looks like getting in the room and doing the work—my next 8-week intensive starts August 7.

📍Link in bio. Let’s chase it together.

MORE SPOTS ADDED:
I’m offering free 1:1 self-tape feedback sessions through July 2.
You send a tape (old or new), we hop on Zoom, and I’ll give you notes from a casting director’s POV—what’s landing, what could be stronger, and how to shape it.

No one’s perfect. And no one should be.

I was coaching an actor the other day, and I found myself saying something I’ve said a hundred times before:
“What you’re doing is great.”
And I meant it.

But I could feel them still reaching… tweaking… trying to get it just right.
Trying to make it perfect.
And I get it—because I’ve been there too.

But here’s the thing:
No one’s perfect. And no one should be.
Your self-tape doesn’t need to be flawless.
Your choices don’t need to be polished to a shine.

They need to be real. Honest. Alive.
Perfect isn’t human. It’s robotic. And that’s not what we’re here to watch.

Tina said it best: Perfect is boring.
And boring isn’t what gets you remembered or booked.

I keep coming back to this Dolly Parton quote:

"When I wake up, I expect things to be good. If they're not, then I try to set about trying to make them as good as I can, 'cause I know I'm gonna have to live that day anyway. So why not try to make the most of it if you can? Some days, they pan out a little better than others, but you still gotta always just try."

Not every day is going to feel amazing. Not every day has to.
What matters is that you keep showing up for yourself—On the easy days and the harder ones.

You’re doing better than you think. 💛

Give each audition everything you’ve got—then release it.

No spiraling. No second-guessing.

If the train doesn’t stop at your station, it’s not your train. The right roles will find you when they’re meant to.

In the meantime, keep doing the work. Keep trusting what you bring. Keep showing up like it’s already yours. 💛

You’ve done the work. You’ve sent the tape. But are you 100% sure it’s landing?

This one-night workshop is your chance to find out.
No fluff. No vague notes. Just clear, specific insight on what’s working—and what’s getting in your way.

Whether you participate or observe, you’ll walk away with sharper tools and a better understanding of how your work is coming across.

Happening tomorrow (PST) + Thursday (EST)

I had a call yesterday with Leandra.

We met seven years ago when she took my class—off and on over the years—and somewhere in there, a friendship formed. She’s a damn good actor. And now she’s writing, producing, creating her own work (but that part’s her story to tell).

She said lately she feels like things are finally coming together. Like all the work she’s put in, all the preparation—it’s paying off.

I asked what changed. She said: “I’m coming from a place of why not?”

Why not go for the thing that scares you a little?
Why not speak up in the rooms that make you shrink?
Why not take the risk, even if you’re not sure you’re “ready”?

Here’s the thing:
If you’re reading this, I’m guessing you have done the work too. You’ve trained, you’ve shown up, you’ve prepared yourself for the opportunities you want.

So let me say this:
You don’t have to wait. You don’t need to be granted permission.
I know—firsthand—that you belong.
At the table. In the room. On the call sheet. Wherever it is, you belong.

And yeah, the industry’s a lot right now. But your belonging isn’t up for debate. Your voice, your work, your readiness—it still matters.

So maybe the better question is:
What would you do if you let yourself believe that—fully?

💛 Christy
