As the Pilates method has grown, I find myself drawn back, again and again, to the part that first made Pilates feel different from anything else I'd tried. Not the equipment, not the aesthetic, not the burn, but the PRINCIPLES.
* Breath
* Concentration
* Centering
* Control
* Precision
* Flow
These aren't concepts to mention at the top of class and then set aside. For me, they're the entire point.

When practicing Pilates, pay attention to how you FEEL, not just what you're doing. That shift sounds small, but it changes EVERYTHING about the experience.
Concentration becomes present-moment awareness and changes how you inhabit your body over time. You start to listen rather than push. To sense rather than force. To notice the tension in your shoulders as information rather than just background noise.
I truly believe that the way we move reflects how we're living, and how we move can change how we feel.

The best part of Merkaba isn't the equipment.
It's the people.
Everyone starts somewhere.
No one has to "keep up."
You simply begin where you are.
When I imagined Merkaba, I wanted to create a space where people could slow down, feel seen, and reconnect with themselves through movement.
That kind of environment naturally creates community. People encourage one another. They celebrate progress together.
Whether you're brand new or returning after years away, there's a place for you here!

Joseph Pilates believed that achieving a balanced mind, body, and spirit was essential for true well-being, emphasizing purposeful breathing and controlled movement.

One of my favorite moments happens after the final exercise.
The room grows quiet. Someone takes a slow breath. Then comes the sigh.
Not because class was over, but because something shifted.
Joseph Pilates believed movement should leave you feeling better than when you arrived. I believes that, too.
You shouldn't leave feeling beaten up. You should leave feeling more connected to your body, more aware of your breath, and a little more at ease than when you walked in.
That deep exhale isn't an accident. It's often your body saying, "I can let go now."

After more than 20 years of practicing Pilates, I always come back to the same realization:
"The principles are the point."
What transforms your body isn't the equipment alone. It's the attention you bring to every movement, every breath, and every moment.
When we move with intention instead of rushing through a workout, we don't just build strength; we build awareness, confidence, and a deeper connection to ourselves.
That's the experience we hope you'll find every time you walk through our doors.
