FHE Crew

Last night we celebrated the FHE Crew 2026 Spring Season and said farewell to our seniors. Our Crew had a great season that despite some rough weather and water conditions saw some of the best results in FHE Crew history! There was much to celebrate and reason for all of our rowers to be very proud!

Thank you to our coaches: Ben, Simon, Ben Darin and Michelle for all your great support and work with our kids. Thank you also to our outgoing Crew Board for all of your work on behalf of our team! We look forward to seeing everyone during our Fall season and as always, ROW HAWKS❣️

4th in the Nation! This was the finish in a close, fast race today in the SRAA National Championship Final for our Women’s Lightweight Sr. 2X. Congratulations, Natalie and Jorjie! We are so proud of you for this incredible end to your senior season, and it represents the best finish in FHE Crew history. Row Hawks!

2026 SRAA National Championships - Saturday May 23rd Join us for the official livestream of the the second day of the 2026 SRAA National Championships on Melton Lake in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.

Congratulations to FHE Crew’s first ever SRAA National Championship Finalists! Our Women’s Lightweight Senior 2X, Natalie and Jorjie, finished 2nd in their heat to advance to the finals tomorrow! We are so very proud of them and this amazing accomplishment! Row Hawks❣️

FHE Crew spent the weekend at the Scholastic Rowing Association of Michigan State Championship Regatta.
States is always a special weekend as we honor our Seniors with a team dinner on Friday night and they officially “graduate” from FHE Crew and receive their Rowing Diplomas 🎓 We will miss our Seniors - Jorjie, Natalie, Ava, Adrian and Wyatt- and wish them great success!

Race day on Saturday started with a bang - of thunder! After almost 3 hours of delay, racing as finals only was underway. Our Crew fought weather and schedule changes to give some of the best finishes of the season!

Special congratulations to our Women’s Varsity 2X (Natalie and Jorjie) and our Women’s 2V2X (Ava and Abby) on amazing races and earning Bronze medals! Shout out to the men’s team for season best finishes in the Men’s varsity 1X (Adrian) and the Men’s Novice 4X+ (Iman, Lucas A., Elliot, Wyatt +Remi) which earned Men’s team sculling points for FHE for the first time in 3 years!

FHE Crew has returned from an amazing Midwest Championships weekend! Our Crew enjoyed some chilly but fun times at the cabins at Camp Dearborn and put in hard work in their races on the water - and it paid off!

This year, there were over 60 teams and 584 boats entered, making this the largest Midwest regatta in history.
Our Eastern rowers had a program best team finish picking up 21 points!

4 of 10 boats raced in the A finals with a 5th racing in the B final. Our girls single placed 8th overall. Our girls junior 8+ placed 2nd in the B final and finished 10th overall. Our girls varsity 4- A finished 2nd and won the silver medal! 🥈
This ties the program best finish and is only the 4th Midwest medal in school history. In the same race, our sophomore lightweight 4- placed 4th in a hard fought race! Lastly our varsity girls 2x placed 5th overall! We are so incredibly proud!

Thank you to our tireless dedicated coaching staff: Ben Norrix, Ben Darin, Michelle Hopkins, Simon Scheer and our volunteer FHE Crew Alumni coaches Olin Bauer and Paige Kitts. Thank you also to our Crew Board members who fed, cooked and cleaned for our whole team this weekend! We appreciate the parent volunteers who gave up their Mother’s Day weekend to stay and help make Midwest an amazing experience for our kids!

Next up: the Michigan State Championships on Saturday, May 16. We hope to see all our Crew parents and families at our team tent on Maple Beach back in Kensington Metropark!

ROW HAWKS❣️

The Hawks spent the day on Saturday at the 3rd and final Mitten Racing Series Regatta - The Martindale Sprints. This was our first outing with our newly named boats, named for Kevin and Tamara Norrix. They are amazing!
Our Senior banners were proudly displayed in the team tent, and it was the first voyage of our team trailer showing our Class of ‘26 Four Year Rowers. Congratulations to Natalie, Adrian and Ava- your dedication and commitment to FHE Crew is something to be so very proud of and celebrated!

Eastern Crew had a very competitive and long day of racing with close finishes and several boats making it to the finals. Special congratulations to our Women’s Varsity Double, Natalie and Jorjie who earned silver medals 🥈🥈
