GDT Jiu-jitsu

Sorry for no highlight videos or posts these last few weeks. GDT Jiu-jitsu's newest future blackbelt was born June 2nd and I've been taking some time off to be with family. I am back at the gym coaching starting this week, so I'll see you at our regularly scheduled classes!

Memorial Day means something deeply personal to many of us who served.

I lost friends while serving in the Marine Corps, and over the years I’ve found that remembrance feels quieter for me, not less meaningful. It’s a day for gratitude, reflection, and remembering the people who never got the chance to come home, grow older, raise families, or continue the lives they should have had.

We’ll be holding classes as usual tonight at GDT Jiu-Jitsu. Train hard, take care of each other, and remember them well. 🇺🇸

GDT brought 2 adults and two kids to the Newbreed tournament in OKC and we came away with 3 gold medals and a bronze. It was my first competition at black belt (and almost 4 years since my last time competing) and although I was beaten in nogi I got gold in the gi. Our kids did great winning two gold medals and my good friend Jaime got bronze in his first ever competition at 48 years old. Very proud of the team!

Class tonight, Friday the 15th, 7pm to 8pm is going to be an open mat. We will be closed tomorrow for Newbreed OKC. Come see us!
