Friday was dry and sunny (after a 30 min fog delay) for 24 incredible singles matches!! ⛳️

Todd White finished 4 & 3 over Michael Flindt (not pictured), Randy Haag went 2 & 1 to beat John Kemp, Mike McCoy finished 2 up against Stephen Jensen, and Robert Gerwin prevailed in his match against Rupert Kellock to finish 2 & 1. Louis Brown went 4 & 3 over Pascal Grizot and Gene Elliott finished 3 & 1 over Ronnie Clark.

The mid-am US men also put on an incredible show winning four of their six matches. Stephen Behr and Scott Harvey both finished 5 & 4 over their European partners Matthew McClean and Matt Roberts. After missing his matches Thursday due to illness, Evan Beck came back Friday to finish 1 up over Caolan Rafferty. Will Davenport also beat Markus Habeler 2 & 1.

It wasn’t a complete shutout though as the European’s did manage to win two matches today. Alexis Leray won his match 2 & 1 over Joe Deraney and Hugh Foley beat Andrew Price 3 & 2.

The women’s scoreboard was a mix of red and blue all day with Europe putting up 7.5 points and the American women 4.5 points. The four matches won by the US were three mid-ams: Lauren Greenlief 2 up over Celine Manche, Jackie Rogowiczs 5 & 4 against Jennifer Saxton, and Kelsey Chugg finished 3 & 2 over Jessica Ross. One senior match was won by the US team when Ellen Port beat Carole Danten Azfi 3 &2.

The European seniors won four of their six matches with Helene Malvy 1 up over Lara Tennant, Jackie Foster 2 & 1 over Suzi Spotlesonn, Sophie Ducrey 1 up over Kathy Hartwiger, and Slyvie Van Molle 3 & 2 over Martha Leach. Tara Joy-Connelly and Annick Riff played all 18 holes before halving their match.

Some of the men from the winning US team! 🇺🇸

Since the US Men won the 2022 Concession Cup in Spain, they only needed 12 points to retain the cup this year while the European’s needed 12.5 points to win.

In the end, the US Men’s Team came out ahead of the European’s; 15 points to 9 points.
