Silver Bluff Boys Soccer

Out last local game before playoffs. We hit the road to Midland Valley tonight to try and improve our record, as well as win out against the Mustangs this year. Come cheer us on in the Valley at 7:00 PM. Thanks for your support!

Talk about making a statement! These young men came in to this game with authority. Started the game on the offensive attack quickly scoring 2, both coming from freshman Isak Anderson. He stole the ball from a defender then quickly scored his 2nd.
They went into the half up 2-1 against Fox Creek. Sophomore Jake Vera laid a gorgeous pass to Senior Raymond Solomon and he put us up 3-1 with an easy goal from the right side crossing to the left.
Sophomore Abelardo Garcia took a gutsy shot and it deflected off of their center back into the goal, making it a 4-2 game. Senior Hunter Casper was fouled inside the box with just a few minutes to play, and scored a PK to seal the deal. Final: Bluff 5 Creek 3.

Captains Edgar Peña and Hunter Casper combined for a total of 46 steals, which helped our team to school high of 131 steals in 1 game!!!

Senior Raymond Solomon stole a ball and took a huge headbutt to the face, possibly earning the nickname “Scarface”, but has gotten all stitched up and ready for Wednesday’s game in the valley.

It’s been a busy couple of weeks but we have been back at it this week! We’re ready for our last home game/last region game against Fox Creek Monday night. We will recognize our seniors and exchange student. Also, athletes from Aiken Futbol Club will be there(free admission with jerseys). Come support these boys next Monday!

Ladies and gentlemen, the Horse Creek game on April 22 has been canceled. Instead, we will play Fox Creek the same day but at 7 pm at the Bluff. That will be our last region game of the year.

Another region contest tonight at the Bluff. Let’s cheer these young men on!

Our boys played their 2nd region game last night in Batesburg against a stout BL squad. Going in to the half, we were down 4-0. Playing 6 players short we only had 10 eligible players the entire game, with NO SUBS. With 15 minutes left in the game, our guys realized the other squad was getting tired, and they took advantage of it. Edgar Pena controlled the tempo in the middle of the field, and stole the ball 9 times. Raymond Solomon had a couple of nice passes from last night’s defensive menace, Hunter Casper, and was able to head 2 of them, scoring 1, then a keeper deflection on the other one where Isak Anderson crashed and finished the goal. Keeper Jonathan Medrano stepped up in a huge way with 12 saves against the Panthers. Congratulate our offensive and defensive players of the game, as well as our game MVPs and rising star! And yes, it’s all 10 of our boys because they did outstanding last night!

Ladies and gentlemen, we are continuing region play tonight in Batesburg at 7:00.

No game today ladies and gents! It has been postponed to a later date TBD. Practice Monday 4:00 PM.

Had a pretty intense, eventful, match tonight to open region play.

The Bluff tried to keep the pace early on but the Predators were able to get a nice shot off to make it a 1-0 game at the half.

Our boys started the 2nd half composed and relentless. Sophomore Jake Vera fed senior Raymond Solomon a beautiful pass which he headed in gently to tie the game up. Junior Edgar Peña had a free kick and his quick thinking and knowledge of the game caught the Predators off guard, by rolling one right past 5 defenders into the goal.

The boys host Fox Creek Friday night for the 2nd region game of the season.
