Our Company Supergroup, A Cover is Not the Book, took the stage one final time during tonight’s Encore DCS Gala and was named the Standing Ovation National Overall Competitive Winner (Ages 11 & Under)!

We couldn’t be prouder of these dancers. Watching this routine grow throughout the season and seeing it recognized on the national stage is something we’ll never forget.

A huge congratulations and thank you to choreographers Tatum Hanna and Caroline DiDio for your creativity, vision, and the countless hours you invested in bringing this incredible production to life.

Today, our tiniest BDS dancers took part in special Encore DCS Nationals workshops in Tap, Musical Theatre, Contemporary, and Jazz. We are so proud of the way they jumped in, worked hard, and embraced every opportunity to learn and grow!

Way to go, Mattie, Barrett, Stella, Everly, and Anna! 👏✨

We also loved having BDS alum Ethan with us today! Ethan is assisting with Encore DCS classes this week, and our dancers have had so much fun learning from him and spending time together. It’s always special to see our alumni giving back and inspiring the next generation of BDS dancers.

These dancers are Gala bound!!! “A Cover is not the Book” was chosen for a chance to dance again at the Grand Finals Gala! They also received a 1st Overall placement last night! We are so excited to watch our full Company have a chance to dance again!

Encore DCS Grand Finals 2026 Encore Dance Competition – For the Stars Grand Finals 2026 Stream. Live from the Sevierville Convention Center on Sunday June 28th at 7 A.M. EST.

Every great story has a beginning... and ours started in 1982. ❤️🖤

When Ms. Rhoda opened Burns Dance Studio in 1982, she knew she'd have at least two students—her children, Corey and Becky.

Today, Mr. Corey proudly carries on that legacy as the owner and director of Burns Dance Studio. On the first day of this year's Encore DCS Nationals in Sevierville, we were so excited to welcome Becky, who now lives in Nashville with her husband and two daughters. She made the trip to cheer on the BDS dancers and reunite with her childhood duo partner as another chapter of the Burns Dance Studio story continues.

And yes... she's still rocking her passé. 🩰
