Urchins are the hottest thing in bass fishing right now, and for good reason. Those little spiny baits get bit when nothing else will, especially on pressured, clear-water fish and anything you're marking on forward-facing.

Thing is, they're finicky if you don't set them up right. So we broke down the whole deal, swipe through for how to actually fish them and the right rods to pair up.

A couple that'll save you a bad first outing:
Fish light fluoro, heavy line kills the subtle action every time.

Four days on Lake Erie and the Detroit River, dragging a big tube for smallmouth in heavy current — that's a real test for a rod. Chris put the OXIM Factor through it and it held up: sensitivity down in 18-25 feet of water, plus the power and fast recovery to get a solid hookset when it mattered.

The Factor's built around jig, worm, frog, swim jig, and bladed jig work — good to see it handle a giant tube just as well. That's the kind of versatility we build these for.
