According to present information, we are the 13th oldest AMA sactioned club in the United States. This event occurs on the first Saturday in June.
We have been an AMA sanctioned and incorporated motorcycle club since 1926. We are involved in several local children's charities and heavily involved in the local motorcycle community.
We are involved in Super Kids Classic, which is Derby Downs for disabled children. Greater Akron Motorcycle Club is an annual sponsor and assists in running the day's events. We are also involved with the Hattie Larlham Foundation, sponsoring an annual benefit run on the last Sunday in July. We have raised over $100,000 in the history of this event to date. The Summit County Motorcycle Events Calendar is created and distributed by the Greater Akron Motorcycle Club as a way to provide information about and prevent overlapping of community events. This calendar covers the months of April through September and is available in March at local motorcycle-friendly establishments. Deadline to get information on the calendar is March 1st; please message for more information. On June 26th, we are partnering with the Widow's Sons Motorcycle Club of the Masons for "The Greater Akron Motorcycle Club Foundation/ Masonic Lodge Run." This will be a first-year, newly-designed event. We will be going from GAMC to multiple Masonic lodges that will be open to the public for tours. It will then end at GAMC with cash prizes available. On the second Sunday in August, GAMC will present its 39th annual Centurion Poker Run. Open to the public, this event will be starting out of Todaro's Party Center on Akron-Peninsula Rd., back in the valley. Registration starts at 9am, first bike out at 10am, last bike out at 1pm, last bike in at 5pm sharp. $15 per person includes: breakfast, an embroidered run patch, a ticket to win a new Harley-Davidson (given away on the day of the run), a 100-mile poker run (with break-down trucks), lunch upon return, live entertainment, and multiple cash prizes.
