That’s a wrap on summer 7s! 
 
CinCity 7s was the perfect way to end our 7s season. Our Akron Jackalopes showed up, showed out, and most importantly, had fun. We played 4 intense games and finished with a 2-2 record. We could not be more proud of the grit and heart these players put into this tournament and the 7s season as a whole. They have grown so much this season, and we can’t wait to see what they do this fall!

Our final summer 7s tournament has arrived- tomorrow, we’re on the road to Cincinnati for CinCity 7s hosted by Cincinnati Rugby Football Club

We are excited to close out this season of growth & fun. We are so proud of our rookies who came out and played hard and grateful to our vets who led with leadership. A huge shout out to our coaches: Holly (Holly Nicole) & Jonathan (Jon “Joe Papi” Torres) for their dedication this season. And to our summer 7s captains: Carlyn (Carlyn Laughlin) & Gracie (Gracie Powell) for their willingness to motivate and grow our team this summer.

We showed up, we played hard, we had a great time!

Steel City 7s was a success for our Akron Jackalopes. We played D1 teams for almost all of the day, learned a ton, and finished the day completing five very close games with a 2-3 tournament record. A massive shoutout to Pittsburgh Forge for hosting such a great event!

This summer has been all about growth, trying something new, and having a good time doing it. Catch us this coming weekend at CinCity 7s, hosted by Cincinnati Rugby Football Club - the final tournament of our summer 7s season!

Our “Jackalopes” 7s team is on the road this weekend to Pennsylvania for Steel City 7s- hosted by Pittsburgh Forge

Our roster is loaded, we have four guaranteed games and we are coming out fresh, debuting a new summer uniform! Catch us tomorrow at McKinney Soccer Complex in Wexford for a day packed full of 7s rugby.

The fun doesn’t stop!

Our last two summer tournaments will take place in the next two weeks- find us at Steel City 7s this weekend (organized by Pittsburgh Forge) and CinCity 7s next weekend (organized by Cincinnati Rugby Football Club).

We’ll be taking a well deserved week off after CinCity and picking up the last week of July with fall 15s practices.

Mark your calendars & come out tonight to practice- it’s never too late to get started.

What a weekend we had- Fight at The Fortress organized by Columbus Rugby was a great success! The Akron Women’s “Jackalopes” (our Summer 7’s team) played their first tournament and left with a 1-2 record for the day- ultimately playing a team in the competitive bracket, as well.

We are so proud of the work our players continue to put in. Catch us 7/11 at SteelCity 7’s presented by Pittsburgh Forge Rugby.
