Team Immunity had a field trip today, while honoring the social distancing directives. The trip ( which included a lengthy pow wow discussion to solve the world problems and an attitude adjustment series ) commenced at the Roulett home and moved onto the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. One of the stops was Szalay’s to inspect the fields for crop rotation and corn production. The Blue Herron Hookery was one of the drive buy viewings. In the future we will go to the famous Country Maid Ice Cream stand to discuss Phase II of our short term strategies. Lots of fun. So happy to see each other on person!

[06/09/20]   A statement Greg Glassman wanted to share with affiliates.

“My tweet sucked. I apologize for that. It wasn’t racist, but it was insensitive.

And offensive. And confusing to too many.

I have an obligation to explain what I meant:

My tweet was aimed at the makers of the failed models that created panic in our public health officials, resulting in draconian lockdowns that disproportionately impacted underserved communities.

Coming out of this lockdown, the same modelers announced they were on to a new task of investigating the health impacts of racism. The same modelers!

Looking to again leverage death in support of their own agendas. Why should we trust the same modelers with such an important task?

Those who know me know that I can be an insensitive a..hole.

Those who know me also know that my sole issue is the chronic disease epidemic, and that I firmly believe you hold an elegant solution to it, but I should have been aware of how my comment would be understood in the larger cultural discourse taking place right now.

That said, I think CrossFit’s solution to chronic disease has much to contribute to that larger discourse. The burden of chronic disease falls disproportionately on people of color.

Modern medicine has failed to address this glaring health inequity. I believe the work you do every day can help to address this.

My insensitive comment created additional challenges for you, your trainers, and your clients. For that, I apologize. The work you do every day is too important to jeopardize. As a part of CrossFit or not: Continue it, and never stop.”
