Sitting in discouragement doesn’t just slow your growth—it drags you down and your whole team with you. ⁠ ⁠ Whether it’s getting placed on a lower court, not seeing the playing time you hoped for, or being passed up for a leadership role, athletes are constantly faced with moments that test their character. ⁠ ⁠ These are defining moments. ⁠ ⁠ How you respond reveals your mindset more than the moment itself.⁠ ⁠ We challenge our athletes to respond with energy, hope, and fight—not entitlement or attitude. Every coach values a player who’s willing to work for what they want, not whine for it. ⁠ ⁠ Feeling disappointed is real, but staying there doesn’t help anyone. Competitors get back up, re-focus, and find ways to contribute. ⁠ ⁠ That’s the kind of teammate every team needs.⁠ ⁠ “Whatever you do, do it from the heart, as something done for the Lord and not for people.” —Colossians 3:23 (CSB)⁠ ⁠ Even when people overlook us, God sees our effort. If we fix our focus on Him, we can keep pushing forward—not for approval, but from a place of purpose. Keep your head up and your heart locked in. There’s still work to do.

🏐✨ Alameda Beach Volleyball is BACK Sunday, August 3rd from 4–7PM at Willow St. & Shoreline Dr. for another evening of sand, skill, and squad energy!

This is a first come, first play setup — so pull up, check in with Kaliva and stay for at least two games if you can. Players are randomized to keep the vibe fun and team-centered — but feel free to bring your crew!

We’re here to get better, to grow, and to become stronger teammates — on and off the court. All levels welcome, just bring good energy and a willingness to play hard and uplift others. 🙌🏾
