Do you like Classic Cars? Do you like Vintage Bikes? Do you like State of the Art Steel bikes? Stone's Cyclery and Bella Bici will be sharing a booth this Sunday at the Inagural Alameda Point Conours Car Show. We will be unveiling our latest creation with all the bells and whistles. I wish there was a bicycle class to enter it in the show. You can also check out the very cool selection of Stainless Steel Lugs from Waterford Precision Cycles if you have not yet had a chance to check them out in the shop. The lug display is headed back to Wisconson after the show. So please come by to check out all the cool cars, some very nice Vintage bikes, and some the amazing Waterford, and Gunnar builds, from Stone's.

Dennis Stone Memorial Ride - July 26, 2015. Thank you everyone for coming out and supporting the legacy of Dennis Stone.

Dennis Stone passed away Wednesday July 8th after a 3 year battle with cancer and it's complications. Dennis' Father Harry opened Stone's in 1943. Dennis took over in 1963. He has been a fixture of Bay Area, and US, cycling over the years. We will honor Dennis with a memorial ride this Sunday the 26th. of July.
The ride will depart Rockwall Winery, 2301 Monarch Street, Alameda, Ca. at 9:00 AM. since we need to be back in time for the memorial service that will take place from 1:00 until 4:00 PM. at Rockwall. The ride will cross the island, then onto the Oyster Bay loop, then finish with a Bay Farm Island loop, adding up to about 29 miles. There will be bailouts at about 6 miles, and 17 miles, all flat of course.
The route is posted on RideWithGPS.

Everyone who knew Dennis is welcome to participate in the ride, or the service, or the after service (Wake) at the shop, starting about 5:00 PM. Feel free to attend any or all of these events as you please.
As a side note, Dennis wanted, and both his family, and John want, Stone's Cyclery to carry on. We will do our best to keep the Stone's legacy ongoing.
Thanks in advance for any and all condolences for Dennis' family.

Here's the latest to roll out of the shop. A few quick pics before the customer comes down to retrieve his belated Christmas gift. We think it turned out rather nicely. Just a hair under 16.5 pounds as equipped. It's the first time we've played with the new SRAM stuff and we have to say that we're mighty impressed. Much easier to feed the shifter cables through than either current offerings from Campy or Shimano. The owner of this bike hopes to complete his first Devil Mountain Double this year, and will be rolling the Death Valley Fall Double in March as a warm-up.
