The First Annual Hydro Derby is here as Mohawk City FC and the Sacandaga Lakers battle for more than just three points.

This rivalry represents two of the Capital Region’s most iconic bodies of water, the Mohawk River and the Great Sacandaga Lake. It’s more than a match. It’s about community pride, local bragging rights, and representing the place you call home.

Sam Rogers then scores the game leading goal 10 minutes later, along with a penalty kick goal in the 77th minute to sink the dagger and put the game to bed. 🔥 🦆

This week’s player of the match honors go to Cody Hanson for his relentless work rate and outstanding defensive performance against Collar City, helping keep the opposition scoreless.

The Lakers handed current #1 seed Collar City their first defeat in a hard-fought battle, earning a huge 1-0 victory on the road.

A strong defensive performance from the entire squad kept Collar City off the scoresheet, while Gavin McEnroe capitalized on a defensive mistake to score the game’s lone goal and secure all three points.
