Lake Loretta, Albany, Georgia

The Lake was tested by a fisheries expert in March. A comprehensive evaluation was made by sampling fish using electrofishing to assess balance between predator and prey species. Assessments were also made on the physical and chemical properties of the water to determine water quality, and on degree of aquatic w**d infestation. A management plan was developed for Lake Loretta which provided recommendations to enhance and maintain a balanced fish community within the lake. FISHING HAS CEASED until the lake is balanced once again.

Dougherty County, Lee and Calhoun counties are on the watch list for confirmed cases. By feeding the ducks and geese, people continue to attract and group waterfowl together and promote the spread of the of the disease.
