The girls had a lot of good performances on a cold Monday night in River Ridge. Ali Flood was our only winner throwing a career best by seven feet in the discus. Ali also finished second in shot put. Also finishing second was Lydia running a season best in the 1600m run. Our girls 4 X 200m relay team consisting of Kylie, Piper, Amirah, and Tatum finished second and ran our fastest time of the year by over five seconds.
We had a few third place finishes including an impressive 800m run by Tatum running a career best. Emma was also third with an outdoor season best in long jump. We split our mile relay teams up for this meet where one team was third, and the other team finished fourth. Also finishing fourth, running right next to Tatum in the 800m was Piper with a great 800m run. Emma also finished fourth in the 400m running an outdoor season best.
We had some impressive fifth place finishes including a great 1600m run by Ellie Smith in her first time running that event. She keeps improving each week as she gets healthier. In the field events, Raegan jumped a career best just missing 12 feet in long jump, and Aubrie improved her career best in discus throwing over 72 feet. Raegan also finished fifth in high hurdles as she and Ali ran the hurdles to get ready for the Boscobel meet on Thursday.
One of our best performances on the track was a sixth place finish by Priscilla in the 400m run improving her time by about three seconds. Both teams will compete at the Bulldog relays in Boscobel on Thursday.

The boys had a lot of great performances at Cambridge on a night where the weather wasn’t bad, but a little cold at the end. Beckett was our lone champion winning the 300m hurdles, running a little faster than Monroe. We had two second place finishes with Kamron actually tying for first in triple jump, however, he ended up second on the tiebreaker. Kamron had a very good jump equaling his distance at Monroe, unfortunately on his last jump he spiked himself when he landed, so he wasn’t able to compete the rest of the meet. He did try one long jump attempt, but was in too much pain. Our boys 4 X 800m relay also finished second with a season best time.
Our mile relay team finished third with a great race running a time we haven’t run since sectionals in 2024. It will be fun to see where this team ends up, I think this team has a lot of potential.
We had a couple fourth place finishes in the distance races. First, was Brooks running a career PR in the 1600m just missing breaking 5:00. This came after Brooks ran the 4 X 800m so I am confident Brooks will be under the next time he runs it. Kaleb also finished fourth in the 3200m, his time wasn’t as fast as the Monroe meet, but he ran his second mile a lot faster than his first, so that was impressive.
We had three more point scorers in the meet, with Kamron finishing fifth in long jump on his only jump due to pain in his foot from spiking himself. Our lone seventh place finish was one of our best performances of the night with Kamden Broughton running a great 3200m, his time was basically the same as his career best, which he ran at Deerfield last season. I’m excited to see where he will be at Deerfield this season! Noah had a eighth place finish in the high jump clearing 5-4, which wasn’t bad considering how long he had to wait to jump.
We also had a great day in the throws with a couple of big PRs in the discus. Wyatt threw a career PR by over ten feet going over 100 feet in his first outdoor meet this year. It’s great to see him throwing that far this early in the season. Freshman Izayah also improved his PR by almost ten feet, which was great to see. These two also had a good day a shot put. Wyatt had a power throw of just under 31 feet, which actually would be a career PR for him outdoor! Again, he is way ahead of where he was at the end of last year. Izayah also improved his outdoor PR by throwing almost a foot farther than Monroe. Hopefully he will continue to see improvement each week.
This meet was Casey's first meet of the year after spending a couple weeks a little too far away to make the meets, so we were planning on him doing individual events to find out where he was at, but after Kamron got hurt the plan for him quickly changed. He had an impressive debut in the 400m, running a great first 300m, then running out of gas a little bit, but still ran very well. I believe at regionals last year in the mile relay, he broke a 1:00, and he ran 1:01 in the open, so he will get better at that event each week. Then instead of running another individual event, he ran another 1:01 in the mile relay, which ended up third. He also got a good start in triple jump, we just need to work more on consistent approaches and then extending his phases and improvement will come in that event as well.
We are scheduled for two meets next week, so hopefully the weather will cooperate because I am looking forward to more improvement from the athletes!

The girls had a very good meet at the Cambridge Invite. We had two relays finish second with pretty impressive times compared to where we were a year ago. The 3200m relay time was the fastest since sectionals 2024, so that’s great to see. For our mile relay, our time was a couple seconds off our fastest time in 2025, which was at the sectional meet, so also very encouraging.
It’s not normal for us to fill all four relays because of low numbers, but even with our injuries we were still able to fill all the relays, and had some impressive legs on our sprint relays plus we had a lot of freshman getting relay experience, so I’m certainly encouraged that can become a lot better.
In individual events, Emma ran her fastest time of the year finishing fourth in the 800m. Our best event of the night was discus where Ali threw over 80 feet for the first time this year, not that far off her career PR. Tatum basically equaled her season best, and Aubrie Bartelt threw a career best going over 70 feet for the first time in her career.
Other highlights from the meet was Priscilla running a season best in the 400m, and then running a good 200m. She has been injured, so it was good to see her run well less than 100 percent. Another big PR came in the 800m, where Ellie improved her time by just under ten seconds. Colee also improved her best long jump going over 11 feet for the first time this year. She also competed in triple jump for the first time this year, and got off to a good start.
Now hopefully the weather will cooperate and we can get two meets in this week.
