LED & Fiber test results. Variables: 6 LEDs (3 UVs, 3 in visible spectrum), 2 ways to setup, 5 fibers from Nanoptics Inc., 4 power levels.
Summary: Coaxial setup works best. In this setup, a blue LED can light up every fiber, especially the blue fiber. For those who use a blue fiber but can only have the LED perpendicular to the fiber, an 370nm UV LED is the best choice.
Please take these results with a grain of salt, as fibers from different manufacturers will produce different results, not to mention the color temperature differs between human eyes and a camera.
