"Horse is always right" is the principle which helped me to focus on what is truly important. Instead of seeing horses as unpredictable ignorant creatures who I have to control by any means, I recognize them as logical beings who give us the best right answer they are capable of from their point of view. Instead of trying to suppress unpleasant reactions, I cherish them as important information for improving my understanding of the horse.
