Registration is open for the Lobo-UNM chapter (Albuquerque) and you can begin the process by selecting Join Lobo on our team homepage at SwimLobo.com.
At Lobo-UNM we are continuing to have the open October swim trial. You can come to the UNM pool for the rest of the month (see website for practice times and groups) without charge and the coaches will help your swimmer get placed into the best swim group for their level.
Lobo-RR chapter (located in Rio Rancho) continues with their practices and you can visit their website at LoboSwimming.com
For Lobo-UNM groups, practices start today at the UNM pool at 4:15pm. Parking at UNM requires some planning. The parking garage at UNM is available by the hour. If parking 1-2x a week that is the most economical option. If parking 3+ times a week, it is less expensive to purchase the UNM South lot pass which allows parking in all unreserved spots near the pool beginning at 3:45pm Mon-Fri and all-day Saturday and Sunday. Free, off-campus street parking can be found as well.
Entry to Pool: Enter the pool through the west side fence off the UNM student health center parking lot (no unreserved parking at the health center ... tickets are expensive so avoid temptation). If doing drop-offs/pick-ups do NOT leave car unattended in bus lane or handicap parking.
Masks are required indoors.
Lobo Aquatics is on break this week, then back to practice on Tuesday the 24th. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and will update the team and families if we make any additional changes.
As of this time, the Open Water clinic is still going on.

All distance and Open Water swimmers, a note from Coach Aaron:
"Distance swimmers,
I will be conducting an open water clinic at the UNM competition pool Thursday March 19th from 4-7pm. Lobo Aquatic Club will be on break, and not holding practice this day. There is no fee to attend this clinic other than standard UNM parking fees ($5 flat rate after 3:45 pm). The clinic will focus on open water techniques such as sighting, drafting, in-water starts, and buoy turns. We will also discuss subjects specific to open water swimming such as wetsuit selection, anti-chafing, and keeping caps and goggles attached to your head during a race. All NMS swimmers are welcome to attend this clinic. Swimmers who are members of a NMS Club other than Lobo Aquatic Club, please get your coach’s permission before attending.
