Oh how I miss celebrating your birthday, Stoke. We will be having lunch at the Luna Mansion today with your mom and brothers in your honor.
Happy Birthday my dear Uncle Stoke. I can still hear your small chuckle laugh and know that your special hugs were passed down to your son Matthew. He's about as strong as you were. I hope to see your smile again and my thoughts are always with your mother, your precious children and beautiful wife on this day and many days throughout every year we've had to spend without you.
I feel that I robbed myself from truly appreciating the time I had with you but I know I was just a teenager and hadn't learned yet what the most important moments in life really are. The last birthday I had with you there, you held my Cars cake for me and took pictures with my camera, that's why you weren't in any of them. 😢
And then there was that night in the hospital when I went to see you after work and it was the first time you ever told me about your college years....I mean the REAL stories. We laughed and laughed!.
You are greatly missed, because it was sure was dam good to know you!

Found this in a drawer today. A small token of appreciation from the kids at McKinley CC and flag football team he coached. He certainly was an inspiration to so many people, young and old.
