Due to an outdoor class environment, there are several guidelines for students and spectators:
1) All students must sign a new waiver prior to their first class.
2) Parents/guardians are required to remain on-site for the duration of their children’s class time. Bring a chair or a blanket to sit on.
3) To ensure student safety, there will be no specific uniform requirements and we request that sashes not be worn. Sturdy, comfortable shoes which can provide traction on grass are strongly recommended.
4) There are no restrooms or drinking fountain available. Please bring your own water and stay hydrated!
5) Our instructors will be required to wear masks for Little Dragons classes only. Masks for students and spectators are recommended, but not required. We will do our best to ensure social distancing.
6) The weather may be getting cooler, but students are encouraged to wear sunscreen and/or a hat for class.
We look forward to seeing you all again!

Message from Sifu Kayne:
“For personal health reasons, the time has come for me to step down as Head Instructor for Martial Artistry. Monique Curley has agreed to carry on the Martial Artistry legacy, and take over the school and the position of Head Instructor. Though it has not yet been formalized, she is my choice as heir to my side of the Wu lineage. Her ability to accurately transmit the theories, techniques, and forms of our curriculum are unequaled, and it is my hope that she will continue the MA philosophy of demanding the very best from each student, while giving compassionate consideration to their physical limits. I will be continuing her training privately.
I ask that you will give her all of the love and filial support which you have always lavished upon me, and which has always brought me such joy and strength. This school has been the best of families: a family of choice, not chance. My life has been enriched by each and every one of you, in ways you probably cannot imagine.
I wish all of you health. I wish you all peace. But, most of all, I wish to see you all again one day.”
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
*** Classes will resume in October. Schedule and location to be announced.
*** All students who paid for classes in March of 2020, when we were forced to close due to COVID, will receive the entire month of October classes at no charge.
*** Students who have items at the school should make arrangements with Ms. Curley to retrieve them by emailing [email protected] as Martial Artistry will be closing at the 2500 Jefferson NE location. We have a number of students who still have not picked up their custom t-shirt orders, as well as some who have items in the cubbies and weapon storage racks. We’ll also be reaching out via email, but some folks never gave us an email, or their email/phone number may have changed.
*** Please direct any other questions you may have to [email protected]

Now that the mask mandates have been relaxed for indoor activities for vaccinated people, Martial Artistry is preparing to resume classes.
We’ll be taking a few months to refresh our instructors training, then open for classes on a VERY limited basis.
First, everyone who enters the building MUST HAVE PROOF OF VACCINATION – regardless of whether or not they are taking classes. This isn’t my rule, this is state law; we don’t get to pick so please don’t harass the instructors about it or you will make me angry. You won’t like me when I’m angry.
Sadly, this rule means that – by the current guidelines – we will only be able to serve students age 12 and over, and – again – only fully vaccinated people age 12 and over may enter the building.
I’m sure everyone will join us in hoping that by the time we’re ready to open our doors again to the general public, the rules will be even less restrictive.
Things aren’t back to normal yet, but, at least we see normalcy’s approach. Be kind to one another, stay healthy, and stay turned for further updates.
This looks fun!

Never too old!
I'll be even more grateful when we can all be together again!
I often reflect on how very much I have to be thankful for - a loving spouse, a commodious rural abode, adorable critters, and my health. Most of all, though, I’m thankful for my friends. Friends are the family your heart makes, and through this school I have made many wonderful friends, and the Best Family Ever. I am thankful for you all.

Not a martial arts form, but, a stunning example of strength, balance, grace, and being in tune with a weapon.

The wait is starting to feel like this...
Though the state is now allowing gyms to "open", we are not allowed to hold classes. Oi...
Meanwhile, I hope all our students are continuing to practice and stretch, even if it means doing so in your yard, your home, or the great outdoors. Stay safe everyone. I miss you all!
Guess which one of our junior instructors just won a scholarship at his graduation today? SO proud of you, Otto!
DUE TO THE PANDEMIC WE ARE CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
We expect to remain closed until at least June 1, 2020, but will reevaluate as the crisis evolves.
Students who paid for March classes will pay only a prorated amount for the month in which we reopen.
We will not take your money and pretend to "teach" you by offering you videos without feedback. If that actually worked, you all could just become masters via Youtube. 😂
Stay home. Stay safe. Love each other, and find joy, peace, and health in the beautiful movements of kung fu.
