Albuquerque Aikikai is a traditional Aikido dojo. Aikido is a Japanese Budo (martial art) developed by Prof. Morihei Ueshiba in the early 1900s.
It is based on principles of blending with your attacker and neutralizing aggression. Visitors are always welcome at Albuquerque Aikikai. We offer beginner's classes several times each year. Training in Aikido helps you integrate body, mind and spirit while developing respect and compassion, learning self-confidence, and getting in shape. Unlike many martial arts, Aikido is non-competitive. Traini

Good advice from our sister dojo in Denver. This is a good time to think about connectedness in all its forms.
Reflecting on our December training while we are now physically distancing: Establishing a strong, appropriate and well-timed connection with our partners is a key element of rigorous Aikido training. Maintaining good connections with others while off the mat is another form of training, and equally important in these challenging times.
Dojo members, please keep an eye on your email for updates on our Zoom movement classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6 PM Mountain Time.
All you you need are comfortable clothes and little room to move around. Please join us for these special instructor-led classes.
