Albuquerque Aikikai: Aikido

Comments

Evening, wondering if I may attend the next Beginners class? I did attend a year ago but due to work and an illness, I could not continue. Thanks, Juan Ortiz
Aikido Demonstration Saturday August 9th followed by Potluck! Everyone is welcome! Bring your family and friends.
Please give my best to Okuyama Sensei, I use to make my way down from Toronto to his Dojo for seminars when he was the instructor at Great Lakes Aikikai in Ann Arbor Michigan. If he remembers, please let him know that Bill Collins Sensei is still alive and teaching from time to time at the ripe old age of 90.
Congrats to the Handsome Family!!

Dojo member Rennie just had a piece published for the New York Times online!

Dojo member Jenn Myers will be having a book signing on May 4!

Albuquerque Aikikai is a traditional Aikido dojo. Aikido is a Japanese Budo (martial art) developed by Prof. Morihei Ueshiba in the early 1900s.

It is based on principles of blending with your attacker and neutralizing aggression. Visitors are always welcome at Albuquerque Aikikai. We offer beginner's classes several times each year. Training in Aikido helps you integrate body, mind and spirit while developing respect and compassion, learning self-confidence, and getting in shape. Unlike many martial arts, Aikido is non-competitive. Traini

Good advice from our sister dojo in Denver. This is a good time to think about connectedness in all its forms.

Reflecting on our December training while we are now physically distancing: Establishing a strong, appropriate and well-timed connection with our partners is a key element of rigorous Aikido training. Maintaining good connections with others while off the mat is another form of training, and equally important in these challenging times.
