Took me way too long to get this video out, but we put the hammer down on this brute! Video link is in the description. If 25 minutes is too long for you, there is a shorter version!

Hardest part of antelope hunting will always be drawing the tag. Took me 15 years to draw an antelope tag and it was great to have some of the crew out helping look over goats.
Outfitter rounds by Hornady making quick DIY work. No dogs involved, only DAWGS
Unit 9 produced this year. Dawson worked hard for his bull. We definitely made some mistakes on the target bulls, but excited that we got to spend another September on Mount Taylor.
Two weeks in a row hammering down on some bucket list items!!
First tag of the season punched on a heavy mass lope! Bunch more tags to go, but this hunt definitely had some lows and highs. Eric grinded for this lope through some gun malfunctions and was able to seal the deal with a perfect 300 yard shot! 2023 season off with a banger.
Another weekend spent guiding a friend on his first big game animal. He got to experience what it truly means to harvest your own meat. A nice touch was waking up to it being -4đ
Crew went 2/2 on oryxđ„ such a fun hunt on public land.
Not too far away! đ
Mexican (left) and Mexican x Mallard Cross (right). Both are fairly common New Mexico ducks but the cross is much less frequent and comes in different variations - some have a lot more green than others and some have no green at all. Mexican and Mexican hybrids feature a turquoise speculum and Mexican ducks have a much sharper body feather contrast and darker coloring than mallards. The Mexican duck feeding characteristics are diving instead of mallards dabbling and sifting. The places where I can expect to kill Mexican ducks are specifically where the primary food sources are snails and invertebrates like stock ponds and stagnant, invertebrate rich water.
Wrapping up the first archery season with a couple of great hunts! was able to get it done again in back to back years. grinded it out in a tough unit and was on great bulls the entire hunt. Good luck to those with second archery season and muzzy/rifle tags lots of good bulls around this year.
Boys chose breakfast over green.
Go check out podcast from today. Hopped on for an hour chat with Titus yesterday and we talked about New Mexico and Colorado Duck hunting, two epic mentors and , understanding the why, scouting, setup and having a passion for ducks instead of killing ducks. Thank you for having me on Titus!
Sometimes realism is all you need. 2 dozen podded up and spaced out gives the look of a bigger spread without a lot of decoys.
Cranes and honkers or ducks? I know which one I am picking every timeâŠ
A sure bet to shoot hard earned green last year setting up on this hole.
Studs going to studđ„
Fun afternoon shoot with . If you donât have one of his calls you need to get one on your lanyard. Great guy, local business and one of the best human beings around.
Couldâve had a good morning shoot at this resting pond.
Have many Pintails in your area last year? Thought it was a down year for ducks in general, but especially Pintails compared to normal. Hopefully a strong spring in Canada and the Dakotas changes that this year. Looking forward to BPOP survey results from this spring. What did you see in your area?
Early morning triple in the thick.
Easy livin
Dreaming of more 340 7x7âs for the upcoming season. For me itâs becoming less about harvesting an animal and more about spending time with friends in the great outdoors. I would take a solid weekend with a good group of people over killing a big bull solo, but when you combine the two itâs unreal. PS I think might have been lost when this bull was taken??
Have a lot of footage left from last season to share this summer so enjoy. The truth is last year wasnât a great year for duck hunting in the southwest but I personally had a good season and seemed to time up the best times to be out. This was one of the best days from the season with .nicoloff who put together an unbelievable snow goose shoot after a major spring cold front. I had never met Jim before and he invited me on a hunt that I wonât soon forget. Shooting 100 snows over decoys is tough do do anywhere in North America so this was a special day to do it in NM.
My last limit of the 22 season was a good one. Looking forward to another great season this year. Nesting conditions in Canada and on the prairies are looking good. Only 5 months away now.
