BikeABQ’s annual Bike Swap offers cyclists an opportunity to sell items they no longer need, find great deals on all types of bikes and equipment, and help Albuquerque build a stronger cycling community. to 3:00 p.m. with check in Thursday and Friday, April 27 & 28, 10am – 6:30pm. The event is hosted by Sport Systems, 6915 Montgomery Blvd., NE, with all proceeds going to BikeABQ, a local non-profi

t organization that engages cyclists through advocacy, education and outreach throughout the metro area. SELLING:
Bike Swap is an organized sale, run by knowledgeable BikeABQ volunteers and Sport Systems staff. The cost to sell items is $1 for each item tagged plus an 18-percent commission on sold items to benefit BikeABQ. Tag charges are collected when items are checked in and commissions are automatically deducted from the sale proceeds. People interested in selling items should bring them to Sport Systems on Thursday & Friday, April 27 & 28, between 10am and 6:30pm where the items will be checked in by BikeABQ volunteers. Sellers set the prices they want for their items. Once an item is tagged, the price is non-negotiable. All items are stored at Sport Systems until Saturday. Sellers need only return to Sport Systems with their claim tickets on Saturday, April 29, between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to pick up a check for sold items or claim their unsold items. Items not picked up will be considered donated and used for various efforts in Albuquerque. DONATIONS:
Donations of bicycles and related items are definitely welcome and are tax-deductible. Please bring them on Thursday or Friday, April 27 & 28. The proceeds from donated items help support BikeABQ's bicycling advocacy mission. Unsold donated items will be used to help organizations around Albuquerque including Esperanza Community Bike Shop. BUYING:
At 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 29, Bike Swap opens and the sale begins. The variety of bikes for sale typically spans a wide range of vintages, prices, and types including mountain, road, comfort, commuter, BMX, tandem, and youth. Related items include parts, clothing, trailers, and racks. Arrive early for the best deals! Volunteers and staff are available to assist shoppers. Purchases are made at the Sport Systems registers. Pay by debit card, credit card, or cash. Sorry, checks are not accepted. ABOUT BikeABQ:

While we are seeing things start to open up, we don’t feel that we can hold Bike Swap safely this spring. Huge thank you to Sport Systems for once again helping get used bikes into new hands and supporting BikeABQ in the process! For the month of MAY, 10% of the proceeds of used bike sales at Sport Systems will be donated to BikeABQ!

The 2020 BikeABQ Bike Swap, our annual fund raiser, is officially cancelled due to continuing COVID-19 concerns. Sport Systems, the founder and host of the Bike Swap, has an alternative for this year. Check out SUMMER DE TRADE IN that will benefit BikeABQ through your trade-ins of used bikes at Sport Systems from May 5 - September 6, Cinco de Mayo to Labor Day.

Most of BikeABQ's upcoming events are postponed until further notice due to concerns about COVID-19 and to follow the rules & recommendations in place to help limit the spread.

These events include our monthly meetings, the Bike Swap (BikeABQ's annual fundraiser), and our annual Bicycling Community Picnic. Bike To Work Day, which is a greater Albuquerque area collaboration that we help with, is also postponed until further notice. We hope everyone will return when these events are rescheduled.

One event that is still in the planning stages and which volunteers can still sign up for is the Bike Valet at the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. Help is needed Sept 30 - Oct 12 which includes setup and teardown.
