U.S. Association of Martial Artists

Share

We are a member organization for martial artists of all disciplines, styles, and levels. We are founded on the principles and ideals of Master Robert A. Hawkes.

Trias and Master James H. The association provides a venue for martial artists to come together to share ideas, further their knowledge through seminars, receive recognition of individual accomplishments, and to compete in a fair and safe environment. As a mutli-discipline, multi-style organization, we appeal to practitioners of the traditional martial arts as well as the many faceted eclectic martial arts.

As a member organization we value input from our members. One way USAMA members can do this is through proposing rule changes/additions for our tournaments and national points competition. Rule proposals must be received by June 14th 2026, after which time they will be posted on our website so that they may be viewed by all USAMA members. Then, USAMA members may comment on the proposals until July 8th, 2026 . Finally, during our World Championships to be held in Schaumberg, IL on July18-19 the rules proposals will be discussed and voted on by both the rules committee and the executive board. Approved rules proposals will go into effect January 1, 2027 for the 2027 point year.
To submit a rules proposal, please send an email to [email protected] and include the following information: The rule proposal, the rationale behind it and how it will help to improve our organization. Please include your name and contact information in case any clarification is needed. You must be a CURRENT USAMA member to make a rule proposal. Our current rulebook is available online at:http://www.usamartialartists.org/Data/Sites/15/media/rules/rulebook2026.pdf
