Hello,

With a huge increase in expenses this year, and after many many conversations with over 25 riders, we have had to adjust some numbers to continue to produce practices.

This year we will have a flat fee for each team and no cattle or arena fee ($50 value). We are only going to have 1 "class". The class will be a pick/draw with no maximum number of teams.

In addition, there will be an optional "Fast Time Buy In". You will be offered to "buy in" for a flat $25 for the day. If you end up on the fast time team, you will get a check for $50! If your partner bought in, he/she will also get a check for $50. If one person doesn't buy in, they will not get a check. If neither person on the fast time team has bought in, the check(s) will go to the next fastest team and so on.

2025 Final Show Results

Last weekend we were finally able to host the 2025 Finals show. Between the virus, holidays and arena schedule, it was quite a feat!

In the Open class:
1st was Junior Wellito with a time of 386.69 32 cows
2nd was Hilton Veit with a time of 365.63 on 31 head
3rd was Toby Orona with a time of 309.76 on 29 head
Fast time was Joan Moreau and Brian Nickell with 41.70 on 6 head

In the Beginning Ranch Hand class:
1st was Christopher Romero and Hilton Veit with a time of 71.19 on 8 head
2nd was Hayley Hanson and Hilton Veit with a time of 67.61 or 7 head
3rd was Christopher Romero and Andrew Varela with a time of 59.44 on 6 head

In the Amateur class:
1st was Junior Wellito with a time of 268.21 on 27 head in the short go
2nd was Andrew Varela with a time of 162.61 on 15 head
3rd was Hugh Veit with a time of 117.62 on 11
4th was Nathan Daughetee with a time of 101.59 on 9 head
Fast time was Cari Madewell and Becky Fastle with 50.12 on 9 head

In the Novice class:
1st was Rachael Lyon-James with a time of 271.55 on 19 head
2nd was Pati Zacarria with a time of 206.91 on 17 head
Fast time was Pati Zaccaria and the ghost rider with 52.13 on 5 head

We have finally been able to reschedule the 2025 finals on February 14 at the Bernalillo Bernalillo County Sheriff's Posse arena in North Albuquerque! Original plan still in place with a potluck to follow the Novice class, and awards presented.

This will also include more information on the upcoming events this year. Watch for the email to open the books in a few days!

2026 Sorting Schedule!
We have finally been able to put together a schedule for 2026. Big changes coming, so more information to follow, soon!

IMPORTANT!!!!! Due to the outbreak of EHV, we are canceling the sorting finals. Between when I spoke to the livestock inspector this morning and right now, there are confirmed cases including 1 neurological, and more suspected.
Many of the vets are advising quarantine for at least 14 days.
