Live life beyond the gym walls at Performance Ranch!

Bright Spot: Jim Tate

Sometimes the biggest victories are the ones that give you a little more freedom and confidence in your everyday life.

Jim has been making incredible progress with his mobility, and his coach Mikey has seen firsthand how far he’s come. One of his biggest wins? Walking a full mile without a walker! 👏

Jim has also improved his ability to navigate stairs and perform step-overs, continuing to build strength, balance, and confidence with each session.

But he’s not stopping there. His next goal is to improve his endurance and work toward being able to walk longer distances.

When asked what he would say to someone who is hesitant to get started, Jim kept it simple:

“You gotta start somewhere. Everyone starts at foundation zero. It’s very beneficial.”

We couldn’t agree more. Every journey starts with that first step, and Jim is a great example of what can happen when you keep showing up and working toward the next milestone.

Keep going, Jim! We’re excited to see where you go from here!! 🙌

Bright Spot: Julia Huff

At The Performance Ranch, we talk a lot about building habits for the long haul—but no one embodies that philosophy quite like Julia Huff.

Julia first joined our community in 2009 to improve her strength and manage back pain. Sixteen years later, at 88 years young, she is still showing up twice a week, every week, without fail.

Over the years, Julia has continued to challenge herself, master new movements, build strength, and even tackle challenges like pushing and pulling the sled. Her commitment is a reminder that it’s never too late to prioritize your health.

Julia isn’t just a long-standing member of The Performance Ranch—she’s a huge part of what makes our community special. Her consistency, determination, and positive attitude inspire everyone around her.

Julia, we’re so lucky to have you as part of the PR family! ❤️

Here’s to showing up, staying strong, and proving that age is never a reason to stop moving forward. 💪

Some relationships begin as coach and client. The best ones become lifelong friendships.

I first met Adam Trubow as a client in 2015. I still remember him writing down his goal: to one day finish the Leadville 100 Run. Over the next couple of years, we prepared his body for the challenge, building strength, resilience, and confidence while progressing through shorter races leading up to the big one.

In 2017, I had the privilege of coaching Adam as he prepared for his first Leadville Trail 100 Run. Together, we developed the strength and endurance needed to take on one of the toughest ultramarathons in the country. On race day, I traded my coaching hat for a support crew role, carrying his gear from May Queen to Twin Lakes over the legendary Hope Pass.

What I didn't know then was how much Adam would impact my life.

Over the years, Adam became much more than a client. He became a trusted friend and one of my greatest business mentors. Through his generosity, wisdom, and real estate expertise, he played a significant role in helping me bring The Performance Ranch to life. I can honestly say we wouldn't be where we are today without him.

That's who Adam is.

He invests in people.

Now, for the fifth year, Adam is taking on another incredible challenge through 100 Friends for 100 Miles—running 100 miles to raise money for Special Olympics New Mexico.

What makes this event so special is that Special Olympics athletes won't just be cheering him on—they'll be running alongside him, sharing miles, encouraging one another, and even crossing the finish line together. To me, that's a beautiful picture of what sport is all about.

With only 13 days remaining, Adam has already reached 75% of his fundraising goal.

Let's help him finish this race before the race even begins.

If Adam has ever impacted your life—or if you simply believe everyone deserves the opportunity to experience the joy, confidence, and community that athletics provides—please consider making a donation.

Adam has spent years helping others chase their dreams. Let's help him continue that mission.

Bright Spot: Amy Shrouf

Since joining The Performance Ranch in 2019, Amy has made prioritizing her health a constant—even through a broken ankle, a demanding career, frequent travel, and all the challenges that come with getting older.

When an ankle injury kept her from running, Amy shifted her focus to strength training and the Vertical Skier. And when work and travel made maintaining a running routine difficult, Coach Kevin helped her adapt rather than let her schedule derail her progress.

That consistency paid off. Last November, Amy placed in her age group at the Foothills 5K! 🏃♀️

This spring and summer, Amy has focused on nutrition and strength training with Coach Kevin and Coach Mikey. She’s lost body fat, gained muscle, and gotten stronger—and her biggest win is knowing she’s building the strength and fitness to keep hiking, running, staying active, and enjoying life with her best buddy, Koda. 🐾

Amy’s story is a great reminder that fitness doesn’t have to look the same in every season of life. Sometimes it’s about running a 5K. Sometimes it’s about rebuilding after an injury. And sometimes it’s simply finding a way to keep moving forward when life gets busy.

We’re proud of you, Amy! ❤️

Keep going, keep getting stronger, and keep doing what you love!

BRIGHT SPOT: DANICA APPENZELLER! 🚲🌎

This month, we’re celebrating Danica Appenzeller and an incredible accomplishment on the world stage!

In July, Danica traveled to Brisbane, Australia to compete in the 2026 UCI BMX Racing World Championships, racing against 48 girls representing 12 different countries.

Danica earned World 2, finishing as the second-place rider in the world in her division! And to make it even more impressive, she posted one of the fastest hill times throughout the entire day.

Competing at this level takes speed, strength, confidence, and countless hours of preparation. We’re incredibly proud of Danica for putting her training to the test on the world stage!

Congratulations, Danica! We can’t wait to see where you ride next!!

Thrive: You Were Made for More Than Survival - Performance Ranch 07/17/2026

**What does it really mean to thrive?**

We hear the word all the time, but have you ever stopped to think about it?

Thriving is about more than simply surviving.

It's about building a life where you have the strength, resilience, and energy to pursue the things that matter most.

Over the years, I've become convinced that thriving doesn't happen by accident. Just like a plant needs healthy soil, water, sunlight, and fresh air to grow, we need the right environment and daily habits to become the people we were created to be.

That's why I'm excited to launch the **Thrive Series**—a new collection of articles exploring the habits, tools, and mindset that help us live healthier, stronger, and more purposeful lives.

The first article, **"Thrive: You Were Made for More Than Survival,"** explores:
🌱 What it truly means to thrive
🫁 Why breath is one of the most overlooked tools for health and performance
🔥 How the Thermal Lab was created to help people reconnect with themselves
💪 Why intentional daily habits are the foundation of lasting change

This is just the beginning. Over the coming months, we'll dive deeper into breathwork, movement, recovery, nutrition, community, adventure, and purpose—sharing practical tools you can apply to your own life.

I'd love to hear from you after you've read it.

**When you hear the word "thrive," what does it mean to you?**

Coach Kevin wanted to recognize Dale for his lifelong commitment to health, his incredible discipline, and the consistent way he shows up for himself at Performance Ranch.

Dale has made fitness a true lifelong priority. Through steady effort and discipline while training at PR, he continues to reap the benefits of staying strong and healthy — even at his current age. He moves with purpose and energy that many younger athletes would admire.

What truly stands out is how Dale lives his life beyond the gym walls. He’s still out on the golf course playing the game he loves with strong, stable swings, and he enjoys regular walks with his dog, staying active and independent every day. These real-world wins show how his training at Performance Ranch translates directly into a better quality of life.

Like many of us, staying consistent long-term isn’t always easy, but Dale’s dedication and the support of Coach Kevin have helped him keep progressing at his own pace with a focus on long-term health.

Dale is living proof that it’s never too late to prioritize your health. We’re incredibly proud of the work you continue to put in, Dale. Your discipline and positive example inspire everyone at Performance Ranch. Keep leading the way! 🏌️♂️🐕🔥

🌟 BRIGHT SPOT SPOTLIGHT 🌟
𝗔𝘁𝗵𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲: 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝗠𝗰𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿

Coach Lawrence wanted to recognize Frank for his hard work, dedication, and commitment to investing in his health.

Since joining The Performance Ranch, Frank has experienced noticeable improvements in his strength, stability, and mobility. They're improvements he can feel in his everyday life.

Like many of us, one of Frank's biggest challenges is finding the time and motivation to show up. But with the support and encouragement of Coach Lawrence, he continues to stay consistent and keep moving forward. Whether it's in the gym or out on a bike ride, Lawrence is always there to help Frank progress at his own pace.

Looking ahead, Frank's goal is simple but powerful: to stay lean, remain strong and stable as he ages, and reduce inflammation so he can continue living an active life.

When asked why someone should join The Performance Ranch, Frank's answer was straightforward:

"Do it. It's a very smart thing to do. As you start aging, it helps a ton."

Frank is proof that it's never too late to prioritize your health, build strength, and improve your quality of life. We're proud of the work you're putting in, Frank. Keep it up! 💪🔥
